Nah. Middle of the pack. Siena is hot and at home. Long way to go. Siena should think about dumping Jabir for Primm. These kids are killing it for him.

You don't expect Siena to shoot 48 percent from 3, but when you miss 10 free throws and lose by 7 you kinda did it to yourselves.

2 points, o assists, 2 turnovers from entire bench is just awful. Fisher shot well, but o assists and 6 turnovers is not winning basketball.

It's one thing when it was a few years ago and players like TK were getting 5-10 minutes as a freshman playing behind GVW, Best, the Hand sisters, Oberdorf, etc.
But the freshmen and sophomores this year really can't crack the lineup on a consistent basis it seems. 6 signings between those classes and hardly much impact (1 already transferred to D2 and another isn't a D1 player). I know it's still early for underclassmen overall, but they really can't shoot better than ~30% and get more minutes?

The season is not over, I'd love to sell tickets to the folks on the board for the Marist Band Wagon and charge extra every time some jumps off and then back on.
On any given day any team can and has beaten another. It's going to be who's consistent and actually wants to play as a "Team".
I'm wondering what happened to the TEAM game that we saw in Ireland?
What happened to the vaunted "Motion Offense", it simply looks like the play is called at mid court, and then instead of actually running the play, reading and reacting, the guards dismiss the call and end up dribbling outside the arc, hesitating and not involving the forwards who set screens and then are totally ignored. The lack of any court vision by the guards while the game unfolds in front of them is frustrating to say the least. I would assume that motion offense is to read the defense and react to find a mismatch or an open player moving to the basket after a screen or even a kick out to an open player who does not have the name Krick, Fisher or Shazer on the back of their uniform. Instead, we'll just dismiss the play, dismiss anyone else on the team and do it themselves. All good for the individual stats, but in the end, three on five is no where near the "We not Me" that coach G eluded to early in the season, it's a team sport.
Of course the players coming off the bench have no stats, they rarely have an opportunity, when the "Me Three" are doing their own thing.
I guess asking for a Point Guard to facilitate offensive plays is not a thing for this team, where's the assists, the days when Vander Weider and Best who's assist to turn over ratio was way up there, not only in the MAAC but in the nation. Could you image what this team could do as a team?
Look at the Siena team's box score, everyone on the court was involved, unselfish play, sharing the ball, passing the ball to create uncontested open shots. The starters scored 7, 5, 10, 11 and 17 and their bench had quality play because they were given quality opportunities. Then there is Marist, (20 Shazer) (29 Fisher.....undeniably a career game) and (12 Krick). Donnelly's 4 points which where all at the FT line, 0-0 from the field is indicative of her not even getting the chance to use her height and mismatches under the basket. (really wondering what is considered to be an open player to the guards when Donnelly has her hands up wanting the ball and has 6 inches on her defender, or in transition with Foxx and Bailey?). The Marist bench, cant be blamed for not shooting, they don't get the ball.
MAAC teams will run their scouts, to defend the motion offense that will break down after the first pass, defend against the "Me Three" because they are not going to pass, they are not going to see or involve their teammates on the court other than themselves and let Marist shoot threes because the odds are they wont make them anyway.
I'm sure there have been Marist teams without a superstar, and coach G was able to instill a "Team first" mentality which resulted in some really great TEAMS. Fisher, is a fantastic player, but having 29 points a game will be few and far between, then what?
So with all that rambling and throwing in my 2 cents, well 1 cent in, I'm just the Monday Moring Quarterback just like everyone else on this message board.
Again, the season is far from over, it will come down to this Marist team wanting to play as a team with five players on the court, and the basics, make FT's and don't turn the ball over.

Hard to change selfish players this far into their basketball careers though. Pass the ball, or coaches need to sit them.

Maybe I'm on my own here, but it'd be great if there was more of a supporting cast.
Who else on the team tries to create their own shot? Most of the 4s and 5s don't have a low post game, and the wings aren't able to hit open shots.
Fisher and Shazer are shooting 46% and 41%. Take them away and the team shoots 33.6% from the field, which would be 342nd in the country. I'd prefer more of a team game, but that requires the staff recruit better players.
