Hello everyone,
My name is Jonathan Kinane and I'm the deputy editor-in-chief of Center Field, which I hope you guys are familiar with. I'm interested in doing a story about this site and a bunch of you guys who are active in the forums and obviously care about Marist athletics. I'd be interested in talking about how people feel about the athletic department, what you guys think of the current situation the basketball teams are facing, and why you guys are so devoted to Marist. If anyone would be willing to talk, please respond or let me know via my e-mail: Jonathan.Kinane1@marist.edu.
Thanks!

Jonathan
I want to start by thanking you for all the articles you have done the last few years - they have been better then anything I ever read from the Poughkeepsie Journal so again thanks for that.
Now that being said got mix emotions about reaching out to you and here is why (would love other peoples take):
1) This board is not affiliated with Marist College or the athletic department in any shape or form.
2) I am not sure I want more people to know about this - mainly parents of players and players themselves - the first thing the coaches should do with players is make sure they do NOT read this board at all.
3) The board has done good when it comes to helping an supporting players when it is needed - e.g. Brandy Gang.
A full story about the board - just torn

I'd agree with Nomars points. I view the board as an extension of the bleachers for fans/alums that have moved away.
I think instead of framing the board as the focus, it could be similar to instead see how alums, Red Fox Club members, former players, etc. view the athletic department, the current situation the basketball teams are facing, and why or why not alums follow Marist sports.
I'm of course not an editor, but I'd think it'd be a similar article, but with the view of alums/fans as the subject instead of the board.
I know Marist hires a lot alums, and I'm sure past Circle/Centerfield writers stay in touch with the Communications department and could give insight. And of course this board has alums that may reach out, or could respond through a Google survey, etc.
And would also second the great coverage Centerfield has given. It's really fantastic and I've enjoyed the first two parts of the Golden Age articles.

Ditto - I was a 30 year red fox season ticket holder. I gave up this year due to Covid and will make a decision when next year comes around. Your center field is always an interesting read. Thank-you for you contributions.
