Thought I would start the discussion.
NEC is on another level than us now. We will be pushed around on both sides of the ball.
I just don’t see how we’re competitive against a scholarship program.
We will need to play great to keep it close.
Not really our strongpoint.

Don't understand the point of sponsoring a program that cannot win under the rules they must abide by. Unless the college makes so much in tuition from the players families and donations from football alumni that it outweighs the huge costs of football travel and insurance.
I suppose it must since they have had the program for many decades and Dennis Murray never saw fit to discontinue football.
Oh well I guess. The beatings will continue indefinitely.

You have to remember Marist has football for 1 reason and it has nothing to do with winning or being competitive. They have football to help with admissions and attracting male students.

115 students on the roster this year. The football budget is I think $1.5M?
If they get $15k per player they're doing pretty well. Plus like Nomar said, there's the other benefits from having a team

They raised a million dollars a couple of years back just for football.
I think I would stop donating if football was discontinued. I know, would they notice? Probably not.
And as I’ve stated before, I believe it is the coaching that is stopping us from being good in PFL play. NEC, PL and IVY are one things. The fact that we suck against schools with the same limitations and issues is unacceptable IMO.

As a league NEC has leapfrogged the Pioneer and Patriot leagues. They've play Temple, Miami (both the U, and Ohio), etc. Bryant played Akron last week (Freshman QB is good).
Game has the making of a real beatdown. Hope not.

Marist does nothing without regard to Return On Investment. Football is deemed net positive. They just scrapped a medical program for a bad ROI.

Is anyone even surprised anymore with the inane penalties and mistakes? Shame on the Marist admin for allowing this S to go on as long as it has. TM do something!

Usual mistakes but not a bad showing against a decent team. Best part was the 6,150 fans in attendance. Imagine how many would show up if they won and were competing for Championships.
