I am fully aware of Siena’s record. Maybe delusional was wrong choice of word. I meant obnoxious. Listen. I root for Marist. No need to attack me D2. Thought this was a Pro- Marist board! yeh probably poor choice of words ,word ..yeh im fully aware of how obnoxious they are or can be ,,i've been to the games at times union and had some rowdy ,taunting fans behind us .. ..and im sure its not all or most of them . Just like any sporting event ..there's always a few a-holes .

I'm convinced the extent of your insight into men's basketball is limited to knowing that the shape of the ball is round. Well than I got you beat I've been in the arena as both player and coach.

You are trashing the fans supporting the team. Did you really not expect pushback. Don't support them, fine. But why egg on those of us still supporting them? Not trashing just laughing at So you feel the need to laugh at Marist fans supporting Marist team? No-one said a thing about you not posting about the game, but you just needed to chide us who still support them. I just don't get it.

I was walking behind a few of the Siena fans leaving McCann last night. Listening to them I couldn’t believe how arrogant and delusional they are about their team. Delusional is the right word. They have been that way over the last 20 years that I have been following the MAAC, regardless of their record. Talking about how they are too good for the MAAC and should be in the A-10 or higher and we should feel so lucky that they still grace the MAAC with their presence. Arrogant is also spot on.

Multiple NCAA tournament bids during the 20 year period your talking about and Patsos just recently missed out on another a few years ago .Multiple other post season tournaments as well ..NIT ,,CBI etc...I have no problem with their fans ,,to fill three bus loads of people to come down is impressive and they should be commended for that .There are a few bad apples in every fan base .Some would say there are obnoxious and arrogant Marist fans ---to each other ...

No it isn’t ... it is just a Marist Board. They are indeed 7-20 and as far as I can tell that has been just a fantastic season so far.
Preseason everyone loved the OOC schedule, it set the team up for some wins to gain confidence. When that didn’t work it became all about the MAAC conference. Now that that isn’t working out it is all about just wait until the MAAC tournament we will make some noise there.
We just need a PG ... well we got one for next year along with Enoh so anything less than an actual winning season (not the one where you give points for coming close) should be a massive disappointment.
“Thought this was a ProMarist Board”. LOL go back 2+ years and see how “Pro” Marist you were.

Just concerned you were still elated with Maker after the first 2 seasons of 7 win season ball . and have not given Dunne's teams the same appreciation and patience .It will be a disappointment next year if they don't have a winning season ...i don't know about "massive " disappointment though . Just being facetious about the Pro Marist thing ,,this is a board for critical analysis ..some people on here are more thin skinned than others ,,u might know about this .

The Maker Vs Dunne comparison is the head scratcher. Maker was in his 2nd season as a 1st time D1 HC vs Dunne who is in his 14th season as a HC in the MAAC conference. IMO bar is set much higher on expectations for Dunne (knows the conference, established recruiting pipeline, experience, etc).

Every time there is a new coach, you give them three years. Next year he will have the tools in place. They just lost to the possible league champion by two points . That was without anything resembling a PG. That's where the optimism comes from. Dunne has proven he can win in less than desirable situations. I'd like to think he has better conditions here. I'm not the biggest fan of the people above him. Not that they are bad people. Just think to not have a title in the sport that the majority of people follow is unacceptable. Dunne is the right guy.
About Siena fans. I've said that for years. But give them credit. They demand success in the only sport they care about. And the AD and brass do something about it. They draw about 100 people for WBB and other sports. They never bring up WBB. Just two different approaches. None of those fans (or very few) could tell you what the women's record or schedule is.
We have the better school and don't put all the focus on one or two sports. They do. They have media coverage and a big arena. The big arena is for MBB. That's their world. Hopefully, Dunne gets us where we can have the best of both worlds. But the way we do things, it's a heck of a challenge. So despite their total focus on one sport, we are a good PG away from being as good as them. And Byrd is a very good PG.

I'm sure we passed on many more experienced and accomplished coaches to pick the offensive genius . We don't pick head coaches with the belief that we're going to be more delicate with them than any other .
