Belton has the best footwork of any big man in north Louisiana when it comes to playing in the post. When he catches the ball on the block, it is almost a certainty that he is going to score. Belton can score over either shoulder, can drop step and dunk, and has a short jumper to boot. This summer, Belton played better as the summer went on. However, he still needs to develop better touch on that short jumper to be more of a threat. He is a handful to guard in the post as is. Marist, LSUA, and a couple of Southland schools love the upside of his talent and effort. Well, I like the sound of that. Getting a few bigs has to be goal with our 3 scholarships left. Belton sounds like he could be a good start at filling that need.

Well at 6'8 he certainly fits in where we need some depth. Glad to see that. I saw some posts in here that seemed positive on him so combined with how well our new recruits this year have done I have to be pretty optimistic with this recruit.

I'm gonna be the piece of @#!@#! - I know we need bigs - but what am i missing? This guy is going to have to be some hidden gem that only coach saw the potential - only other offers was a community college and LSU-Alexandria.
We need to keep momentum going with talent. I hope he shocks the shit to of me but - today I am not crazy about the signing

I saw some highlights on his Instagram. He seems to have some decent size for himself, so I'm not too worried about him physically holding up his freshmen year. He'll hit a bump but it won't be the end of the world. Other then that it was all dunks except for one jumper. But he dunks with a fierceness that I like and has some pretty good athleticism. I think if you get two more developed bigs of some sort, and he's your third one, you will be pretty happy.

Definitely has an upside. I'd rather get a guy that has a higher ceiling than a guy with no athleticism that has limited upside.
I like it..

Sounds sneaky:)

He was in a list of the top 12 PFs in the state. He definitely has athleticism. I can never figure out why guys can't develop their shot..
He's active. Allegedly, very good feet. Our coaches can work with that. I always look to see if they have a decent FT %

He looks like he can run like a deer. Just need him to defend, box out and be active. Anything beyond that is gravy. Besides, JD's staff seems to know what they're doing. Gotta believe they know more than we do.

He's very athletic but has limited fundamentals. He'll be a project but will be serviceable by late sophomore year. May even need a redshirt year. Especially w everyone getting another year of eligibility due to covid.
