If the guys Dunne has coaches who can't recruit than he needs to fire all their asses right now and find ones who can Ok, status quo.

They need to be aggressive. Can't just hand the title to Iona. So now they have to wait for Pitino to be gone?
Get a winner's mentality..
Haven't the fan base waited long enough? Whatever it takes. Get it done.

That's what I read about Pitino too. Can't just let them dominate just because Pitino is there. At least go toe to toe. Or don't have a program.
I'm fed up with them thinking small. Mediocrity. Think big..

I guess the academics and campus just aren't that much of a selling point for MBB.. I've always thought MBB was a different animal that had to be treated differently. Much harder to win..

Again, imo, this takes something away from Giorgis. Marist stunk under ken babineau. Not easy to win in wbb, coach just gets it done.

would be happy to get 2 Quality D 1 prospects next year in addition to Byrd ..If we end up getting 4 or 5 schollys would prefer to get a transfer to sit a year ,or just keep and not use a scholarship if There isn't any good talent to get ..To keep from having this revolving door of guys leaving every year. It was different during the Martin era ,,top quality players were leaving . That has been different lately where many of the players that have left have struggled in D2 ,exception Nedrow .Williams (D1).

I guess the academics and campus just aren't that much of a selling point for MBB.. I've always thought MBB was a different animal that had to be treated differently. Much harder to win.. During the most successful period in Marist MBB the campus and academic reputation was nothing compared to what it is now. So I agree with you. What they did have was a strategy.....scouring Europe for players to make up for their status as a D1 newbie.......and it worked. Going toe-to-toe with Villanova at the McCann Center with 4000 fans was a big deal back then. That was another time and place driven by the needs of struggling local college with bigger aspirations. Marist became understandably cautious after the NCAA penalties (enter Dave Magarity) and they were never able to truly develop a distinctive MBB tradition off that success. A distinctive MBB tradition is what Iona, Manhattan and Siena have that makes up for a lot of other factors. MBB is in their institutional DNA they can't avoid acting on it, for better or worse.

He missed on 75% of them. Dunne is at about 50%. Year 3 is huge in this regard for Dunne. Unless TM has bought into another Maker-style 10 year plan.
