Actually, she's first team all-state for the third year in a row. But AAU teammate and fellow Senior Tiffany Johnson won Miss Basketball. Would have been nice for Marist to officially have a "Miss Basketball" on the team, but it looks like Beynnon is a great catch nonetheless. 19.3 points, 10.4 rebounds, 3.8 blocks and 2.3 steals. 1,000+ points and rebounds. She can score, rebound, and handle the ball. BTW...Johnson is going to Div II Franklin Pierce www.burlingtonfreepress.com/article/20090405/SPORTS/90404024

I demand a recount! :-)
Seriously, that first team reads like their Lone Wolf AAU squad roster.
Wonder how Beynnon will figure in with the Foxes? Word is she like prefers playing on the perimeter, but you've got to figure that will be problematic at the college level where the 1/2 guards are so much quicker. A 6'3" gal that is a legit perimeter player at the college level probably isn't ending up in the MAAC anyway. Nonetheless, if she is quick enough for the 3, she will have a field day shooting over, posting up, and otherwise abusing 5'9" MAAC Wings.

Johnson is a solid player and comes from a great basketball family. Her father and uncles were all 1000pt scorers in high school at bfa.

Johnson is a solid player and comes from a great basketball family. Her father and uncles were all 1000pt scorers in high school at bfa. Franklin Pierce's Woman's Team narrowly lost the NCAA Division II National Championship Game this year. The kid must be an excellent player to be recruited for that level of play. Last year's Vt. Girls POY Alyssa Herrington just finished her freshman year at Manhattan and earned a spot on the All-MAAC Rookie Team. I'm sure she had quite a few scholarship offers and it will be interesting to see if she stays put now that Mindy Hill has left the head coaching position. The new guy has strong metro area ties.
