PFL supremacy at stake....
The game view from San Diego. Big play guy at Tight End.
San Diego at Marist, 1 p.m. ...from Pioneer League Website Week 9 Match-up Preview....Video: GoRedFoxes.com Setting the Scene: The biggest matchup of Week 9 pits the PFL’s two unbeaten teams against each other when San Diego travels cross country to meet Marist. The Toreros bring a five-game win streak into the contest and its only loss this season came in a road test at now nationally-ranked Cal Poly. The Red Foxes have bounced back nicely from an 0-3 start, winning their last four outings and have scored more than 30 points in their last three outings. The duo has two common opponents this season: Butler and Davidson. Marist outscored those two teams, 61-31, while San Diego dominated the pair, 96-13. San Diego Matchup to Watch: Can the Toreros rein in another PFL quarterback? Taking just PFL games into account, San Diego is the league’s top defense in rushing defense (62.6 ypg), total defense (252.0 ypg) and scoring (10.4 ppg). While Marist hasn’t been a rushing threat (11th, 99.2 ypg), it does provide a test with the league’s top passing offense (1st, 337.8) as quarterback Mike White has made steady improvement as the season has progressed. Meanwhile, San Diego allowed a season-high 248 passing yards last week against Valparaiso, slipping to second among PFL defenses in passing yardage allowed in PFL play. Marist Matchup to Watch: Can the Red Foxes turn over the Toreros? Marist enters Week 9 as one of the league’s top defenses in terms of turnovers forced, with 14 turnovers gained in seven contests this season (10 in four PFL games). The Red Foxes are ranked second in the league with 12 interceptions this season. But despite all the turnovers forced, Marist has scored just 28 points off those miscues. San Diego is eighth in the league in turnover margin (-1) and has committed seven turnovers in PFL play alone (five interceptions).

San Diego 13 Marist 3
3rd Qtr - 4:14
After initial TD, Foxes D has played well but Foxes O is just about the pass. No running game at all.

San Diego 20 Marist 3
4th Qtr. 4:58
QB White is hurt, but still plays . . . fumbles . . . Horrible decision to keep White in game.

San Diego 27 Marist 3
Final
One thing to lose another to get beaten. SD just beat the crap out of us. That's the best team Marist has and will face this year and I wish SD well in the FCS playoffs.

As was previously mentioned, the Toreros are the best in the PFL and it showed.
This loss hurts, of course not as much as the Hail Mary game from 2 years ago which resulted in fans calling for Parady's head; but this had to be the game to get the Foxes out of their comfort zone.
Admittedly, they were cruising in the past three matches against weaker, more underclassmen-heavy squads. And the remaining schedule won't be easy. It's just time for the team to come down from cloud nine and back to reality.
...At least basketball is around the corner! 🏀🐺

well, Football was picked 6th in the PFL. Still have a chance to prove the Coaches wrong, put this behind them and put a very good PFL campaign in the books.
27-3 is actually deceiving. The Hodges kid (a PAC 12 transfer from Cal) ran for nearly as much as Marist gained through the air. Total domination by the SD defense and their offensive line. Especially in the second half.

SD has quite a few BCS players. The TE, Dwelley looked like Kellen Winslow and the RB, Hodges is a freak. They had a 6'8" 315lb OT that could move. Once again, this game and too many other are lost in the trenches. 1st and goal on the 1 and they come away with nothing. I know we recruit speed freaks on defense but SD could have put up 50 against us. Rough game.

0-12 and counting.
That, no matter how you look at it, is a bad stat

Also, yesterday's game offers some takeaways as to what the programs needs to do if it wants to consistently compete and routinely win the PFL championship.

The status quo is not going to get it done. 0-12 does not instill one with hope if we do not change our approach.

0-12 wouldn't happen if they had a running game! they ran the ball 6 times!
