Valpo had a big win against William Jewel - this is a must win and even then they are playing an intramural team

go grab a guy from the soccer team to kick - we must hold a record for missed extra point and missed/blocked field goals

Marist 28 Valpo 7
2nd Qtr 0:45
Foxes play well, but Valpo is falling apart. Need to work in young players for some game experience, particularly O-line.

Marist rolling. Kinda crappy downplaying the opponent so much so in away to make it seem like a win means nothing.

We need a Win. And a win is a win. That said, Valpo is 5 - 53 over the last 6 seasons. Part of the reason Marist is rolling is that Valpo isn't that good.

But didn't see the comments about how good San Diego has been and is when Marist lost last second. Just saw a lot of complaining by the board. Just saying, seems like we have been really rough on this team that went through a lot of changes in terms of players graduating.

yeah im sorry if you take away Campbell they have not won a DI (FCS) game in 6 years. I guess is really just the question of what are we really trying to accomplish with having a football team... if it is just to say we have one then ok.

I am in the minority but my opinion is either go all in and offer some scholarships and take the sport seriously or get out. My problem is I live in SEC country and am used to going to UGA games

They shared the league title this year and are going thru a transition. To expect Marist to just continue like they were last year is insane IMO.

No one expected a repeat of last year, but to start 0 - 5 and more importantly to play as poorly as they have is insane. I mean, just look at the history of the program 1 great year (always co-champs by the way) and 5 years of 3-8 or 4-7. Again, we'll be 4 - 7 this year if we're lucky. Also USD isn't that good this year. Maybe 5-3 in the league, probably 4-4. Bottomline is that they should not have lost last week, but as a long time FB fan, I'm not surprised by the lost. Very disappointed but kind of par for the course.

Lets use college basketball as an example. Everyone seems to love Dunne at St. Peters. He does the same thing, gears up for the one possible big year, a lot of mediocre to crappy records in between. They face similar issues as you guys seem to say Marist does in football. Not playing exactly on an even field with the other programs, am I wrong? If so, please educate me.

What, this is a surprise that Looney and a few teammates graduated. The staff had 4 years to prepare for that event and either did not recruit properly or cultivate the replacements very well. I understand all teams go through rebuilding/reloading and may have a down year but to be completely lost at the QB position after having 4 years to prepare...

I am in the minority but my opinion is either go all in and offer some scholarships and take the sport seriously or get out. My problem is I live in SEC country and am used to going to UGA games I disagree wholeheartedly. I have no problem with Marist football in the PFL. There are so many reasons to have a team, which many people including myself have pointed out in earlier threads. However I agree that we should strive to be a consistent winner at the level we compete at. Marist is in the lower tier of funding even at the PFL level and here lies the problem. It says in the seal of the school "To Strive with the best" to strive with best the PFL has to offer we need to invest more in the program IMO.
