I agree. I also agree with the BU statement. A lot of people on this board believe PL inclusion would put Marist on the fast track to a higher academic stature level. I remember someone telling me AU experienced something along that line. What say you Bison? I don't know what being in the PL might do for Marist, but you are correct that American has had a huge upgrade in their rankings, average SAT scores, selectivity, etc since they joined the PL. Hard to prove cause-and-effect, but I know a lot of people think their affiliation with Colgate, Bucknell, Army, Navy, Holy Cross, Lafayette, and Lehigh has helped their reputation - especially after having been affiliated with some much weaker academic schools (other than William and Mary) prior to that.

Cant deny that it would be a home run for Marist. I would be fine if Marist just played their football with the Patriots. You become a product of your environment. I just don't like this 'tweener league we are in. Plus to hang with schools that have the historical legacy that Marist just can't buy would be great for the school and not just the program.

But I'd want full membership, as Marist has been very competitive with all PL teams, with the noted exception being FB. -1 - I think the PFL is good fit for Marist. The USD series, while one sided has provided a lot of drama over the years. Interestingly, there are four catholic established/based schools in the league, Dayton, Valpo, Marist and USD. Add Sacred Heart and G'town and we have the Catholic division of the PFL.
