Marist has continually been weak with updating stuff or getting any information out about incoming recruits. They still don't have any of the incoming freshman listed on the roster. Are they not allowed to be listed until the season starts or something?

Nothing new Yankee. Last year between Sept 2nd and Oct 28 (media day) GRF.com had a total of 8 stories on the MBB. This includes the Marist Madness story with appeared twice. For a communication ed. school they sure seem to a bit laid back when it comes to getting the word out. Granted they haven't progressed much since the JJ/WW team graduated, but you would think this would be the year to pump up the volume with so many new players and a coach who has gotten his program in place.
Compare that to Siena, who leaks news of the bowel movements by their players to reporters and bloggers, and it can gets frustrating for the faithful of their more laid back rivals.

As I was actually wondering about the Siena thing today. Iorizzo did a story about a player that visited Siena. That stuff is allowed? Good for them if it is, Pojo needs to start doing some of this.

I wouldn't mind an update on Menelik Watson. Has he been cleared to start the season. If not, expect a slow start.
I'd also like to hear about recruits who are making official or unofficial visits. Keeps the "hot stove / off season" interest high.

I raised some of the same questions a while ago. The WBB roster is up to date but not the MBB. It has to be something within the MBB program. I argee that for a school of communication something is lacking.
Forget about the Poughkeepsie Journal. That paper is totally lost. Today they feature an event in Patterson NY (Putnam County). I doubt anyone down there even reads the PoJo. It amazes me that they can't find a local event to give more coverage to. The PoJo will disappear soon and I doubt anyone will miss it. They sold the paper to Gannett years ago and recently sold the building. This could be to ONLY source of Marist Sports news some day soon.

I have talked to the PoJo many times - they will never print anything that is not released officially by Marist. They will never do any of their own investigations, talk about verbal commitments, or visits. They are nothing more that a paper that will regurgatate what Marst tells them to.
