Volleyball sweeps the weekend in New Jersey, getting to empty the bench yesterday against hapless Saint Peter's and today beating Rider in 4 for the season sweep. Q is currently losing at Manhattan and if that holds Marist is tied for 1st.
EDIT: QU rallied to win in 5 sets, a bummer but expected. That match should never have gone 5 though.
Women's soccer with another extremely effective 1 goal deployment, winning 1-0 at Manhattan this morning in a match postponed from yesterday. Keep acquiring points here and there and they may be top 6 at the end of the regular season.

DPOW for Marist keeper Maddy Catalanotti. They may not score goals, like, practically at all, but women's soccer stays in games by staying solid in the back.

Wild volleyball match in front of record McCann crowd tonight as Marist let a 2-0 lead slip away and trailed Iona very late in the 5th before rallying for a 16-14 win.
If Fairfield finishes off QU, 3 way tie for 1st place in the MAAC after tonight.
EDIT: Stags win in 4 and it's an unbreakable (until later this season) M-F-Q three way lockup.

Theme song for Marist today is 2 Out of 3 Ain't Bad.
WSOC got thumped at QU, they are trending in the wrong direction and a MAAC tournament berth looks unlikely. Multi-year rebuilding job.
MSOC pulled out an absolutely-had-to-have-it win over Q 1-0 at home. The Bobcats will probably miss the MAAC tournament and I believe be the 4th straight defending champion to do so.
VB played a lot of bench kids against winless Saint Peter's but the Peacocks didn't want to cooperate with what Marist thought was going to be a laugher. Foxes gave up a 2-0 lead and were down 13-10 in the 5th before scoring 5 straight to narrowly avoid a horrible loss.

VB starts the Buffalo weekend with a 4-set win at Canisius, their 7th in a row, behind 26 Sasha van der Merwe kills. Niagara tomorrow.

Both soccers take points from Fairfield, the women a 0-0 stalemate at home against a much better opponent tbh, and the men win 3-2 on the road. The usually solid Stags are in the MAAC cellar this season, winless through 6 league matches.
A pair of huge matches Wednesday against Iona. The women 1000 percent must win in New Rochelle against the last place team to have any hope of reaching the tournament. The men host a flying Gaels squad that's now 7-2, 5-0 MAAC.

Volleyball extends it's skid to 3 after a reverse sweep at Manhattan. They have dealt with injuries a bit, but hopefully they find their groove before MAAC tournament

Over the weekend volleyball split the Connecticut trip, beating Quinnipiac and falling to Fairfield in 4 sets each. Hopefully a return to top form as the tournament approaches.
Sasha van der Merwe earned her third MAAC Player of the Week award.
They go to Siena on Saturday to end the regular season which absolutely must be a W; the Saints are winless against the entire country except Saint Peter's.
