First thing I read is …. “ Absolute sniper from deep” Can't find other offers - but do not care - Allenspach was missing those also - everything I've seen and read tells me we got a bit of an under the radar steal. ‘24 CHLOE ESCANILLAS-5’8”- combo -Coaches you be wise to pay close attention to this dedicated hard-working soul. Start with, she is mega student. Next, she is a workhorse who plays either guard position at a high level of Efficiency. She is a knock it out high percentage shooter. She has a next level IQ and a no frills get it done handle and attitude. Her quickness, feet and prideful manner make her a excellent defender. She has played against the best of the best and lived to tell the story. A unselfish, winning player. This is a high academic or D1 sleeper steal. On paper I agree. Her talent will be lost if we don't stop playing as a two member team.

Yeah - I wonder if Erin’s lack of PT hurt us. Hard to argue against someone choosing William & Mary

I assume this is Erin's sister? Crazy thing is she is actually a better volleyball player than basketball player. She is Erin’s sister but a completely different kid. Explosive athlete

Danielle Williamsen committed to Marist. #21 School: St. Joseph by the sea, Staten Island PG, SG 5'7 guard, apparently a good 3 point shooter. 22.3 ppg for a Catholic league and NYS Federation state champion team last season. Any other known offers besides Marist?

Danielle Williamsen (St. Joseph’s By the Sea HS, NY ‘24) has seen her stock rise tremendously during the travel season with New Heights. She had a big weekend at the Run 4 Roses championship, being lights out from beyond the arc. Williamsen is a player to keep a close eye on, as she heads into her senior year with St. Joseph’s by the Sea in the Fall.
At 5’7”, Williamsen is a shooting guard that can score the ball in bunches. She has a variety of scoring moves that consistently keeps the defense at her mercy. In both half court and transition, Williamsen is a knockdown shooter both from beyond the arc and at mid-range. Her quick release and ability to move well without the ball result in her getting open for her shot on the perimeter often. She also has the ability to get all the way to the basket and finish through contact.
Williamsen has now picked up offers from both Wagner and Manhattan. At the next level, she will bring with her many translatable skills including her lethal shooting. Before then, she will have to make a big time decision of where she will spend the next four years. The young guard is poised to have some more big time performances this summer before carrying that momentum into her senior year and dominating.

Sounds like we’re never going to get into the 3 point shooting predicament ever again ha

For argument sake - lets assume that when our seniors graduate they go elsewhere for their extra year - i think is a more likely then not scenario. So how does the roster look a year from today? Notes:
J. Corentino comes to Marist as SG - in HS the "coach gave the point guard responsibilities mostly to Guidetti" - from Asbury Park Press C. Escanillas listed as SG/Wing on multiple sites D. Williamsen listed as Combo Guard
PG J. Piddock 5'8" (Jr), D. Williamsen 5'7" (Fr)
SG J. Corsentino 5'9" (So), C. Escanillas 5'8" (Fr),
SF L. Tarul 5'11" (RJr), C. Cunningham 5'11" (Sr), M. Tompkins 5'11" (Jr)
PF K. Robbins 6'2" (So.), C. Croker 6'0" (Jr)
C M. Rife 6'5" (Sr), M. Lee 6'5" (Jr)
That's 11 - so even if we wanted to we don't have spots for all the 23'-24' seniors to stay for 5th year... has has 2 maybe 3 slots left ....

Looks like you’ve counted Williamson twice. So it looks like 11. I really want Zaria back. Lee, Zaria, Robbins, Croker and Tompkins would be a very solid front court group. That still gives them two more slots to fill with a couple of freshman or the portal, or a combo, if the staff thinks they are only one piece away from contending. They could probably use an experienced hand at the 1 and/or the 2 lessening reliance on the freshman for a year.
I guess it depends on how players skills and relationships develop over the course of the upcoming season.

After watching Williamsen more and reading some articles, I think she’s going to be another very under recruited player.
