Red Fox Fan,
I wanted to come here to say thank you to all who have donated.
So many years have gone by since the thousand of us were together on a cold winters night, in a sold out McCann Center in Poughkeepsie. As I write this, I can still feel the arctic breeze and the smell of frozen ice coming off of the Hudson River.
On Monday night upon hearing the devastating news that hit our community; despite all the time that has passed, distance between us, schedules now revolving around our children and careers, ‘your girls’ called a old school team meeting.
This meeting was not mandatory, but we all showed.
During this profound moment of loss and sadness, I have realized just how powerful our Marist WBB family truly is. The lengths we would each still go to extend a hand to lift each other up off the ground teaches me that - A team ‘culture’ is only as good as the people that believe in it.
I’m moved to say 10+ class years of Marist Women’s Basketball came together to help spread word of the Ben Luderer Memorial Fund. I’m moved to say Red Fox Fans continue to be part of that culture.
The goal we set together on GoFundMe was achieved in what seems like a blink of an eye with much of your support.
It’s beyond remarkable and deeply moving.
From the bottom of my heart I sincerely thank you. Thank you for all the times you supported us back then. Thank you for how you have supported us now..
You watched us leave as ‘your girls’ while we saluted you one final time as walked off the court one by one on our Senior Nights. Taking with us your cheers, support, and love as we raced to start our lives in the real world. We embarked on thriving careers, found soulmates, and started beautiful families.
We grew up and became women, but we will always be ‘your girls’.
And you.
You will always be the best fans on earth and you mean so much to us.
Thank you for all your kindness, Maria Laterza Class of 2011

We love each class of our girls. Thank-you for in information you shared and thank you for starting the fund. We can't change the outcome, however, we hopefully can show our concern and love.
