NCAA cuts annual distribution to D1 schools

Cut massively from $600M to $225M for 2020. This is going to hurt big time. Especially on top of the crushing blow to the economy and government and personal finances the response to COVID-19 is going to wreak. Many colleges were teetering financially anyway, This is going to take some out and the rest to make hard choices regarding what's mission driven and what is not.

That's huge. As awful as it is, Spring sports being cancelled is probably saving schools some money since they aren't as big revenue generators, but that won't make up an over 50% cut.
