I guess the dream is a 6'4" Driscoll type player for one year and recruit the big for 2017 - but what 1 year player is going to want to come to a team coming off losing season with no chance to get to NCAA?

Come on Fear you have them losing the MAAC before even playing 1 MAAC game. You are certainly a fair-weather fan. If you don't have anything positive to post, don't post!!!!!
Why do you even follow the team? Why don't you just follow the idiot Mainejeff and follow Maine?

You are way too pessimistic. Lets at least wait until they have gone through the league once. I'm not sure it's either possible or fair to gauge how these freshman will play in the MAAC based on playing the schedule so far. Plus, they were right there with Delaware. I think, like to PoJo wrote, the program has earned our patience.

No chance? This team has talent, and we know the staff can develop talent. No chance is extreme.

Why do you even follow the team? Why don't you just follow the idiot Mainejeff and follow Maine? Not "fair-weather" - disappointed and concerned. I am concerned that they failed to even show up to 2 games so far, I am concerned that one of our All-MAAC players has not come close to getting it going yet this year, I am concerned that we have one of the best players (if not the best) in the MAAC and we are getting blown out, I am really concerned that we lose her next year, I am concerned that we have no one coming that can come close to filling her shoes or rebounding, I am concerned that we are a perimeter team that can't make the shots from the perimeter, I am concerned that opposing teams have shot the ball 100 times more then us in 7 games. I am concerned that we will not be able to play with the likes of Fairfield & Quinny - I don't care that we can (maybe) beat St. Peter's. I thought that our only real lose from last year was Blais - maybe not the case. This board isn't just for people who want to blow sunshine - it has to also be a place for people to vent when they do not like what they have seen.

Agree that analysis doesn't have to be all rosy, but no chance?

There is some good - in addition to the incoming class next year we will add Jossart who is supposed to be a great 3 point shooter. I know he wants to hold that scholarship until 2017 but we need a true big for next year - he has never gone JUCO (I believe Fifi was here when he got here) but this might be the time. (YES Nomar I know there isn't a store where you can just go to isle 5 for your good centers) Fifi was one of two Juco's that came that year. Don't remember the others name since she didn't stay nor do I remember if his staff recruited them. Bottom line is that Fifi was extremely successful at Marist. So much so he hired her as a DBO. He has accepted several transfers including the current center and 2 players without whom there would be no Sweet 16 Banner, Viani and Dahlman. I think a JUCO is beyond a long shot based on past practice. But there is good history with transfer success and still a viable route to go if you want a center eligible with the class of 2017. Actually, Fifi was the only JUCO to begin playing for the Red Foxes in 2004, coming from Genessee Community College. The following year, Danielle McCray, who played with Fifi at Genessee, and I believe broke Fifi's records at that school, joined the team, but only stayed that one season. She might even have left before the season ended, but I'm not sure about that.

Fear, Do want a little cheese with that wine. You really don't know basketball and it shows. All of your complaining is not going the make them play better only time will. If you want to vent go to the Maine Board with Mainefeff.

So being outshot by 100 is not bad, shooting .275 from 3 is good?, being out rebound by 70 is not a big deal - I guess you are right I don't know what is bad you must be so happy so far wearing your rose colored glasses. Why am I not on Maine's board is because I am a Marist alum.

It was a unique and incredible dynamic - she deserved that opportunity no way we were gonna keep her until coach decided to retire in 2025
