I NEVER EVER quit a TEAM - the job thing is an entire different animal. Don't try to come back with players get traded all the time those are paid professionals. I have no problem with transfers who want to be closer to home, or players who want to transfer because the staff has turned over, BUT to just quite because you don't think your team mates can win.... you have that right BUT do not expect me to be ok with it, not how I was raised and certainly not how i raise my kids. (The grass is always greener philosophy is not for me)
The going got tough and SHE got going.....quitter in my book

If she transferred because she didn't think she could win, then I'm in total agreement with you. I just can't believe that was her reason....I guess its just hard for me to believe anyone would leave for that reason. I too, love Marist WBB & felt that with her shooting, which really spread the floor & Lai ready to make major strides, we were going to be extremely competitive.

Maybe she left because she wanted to get her Masters on the schools dime and she wouldn't be able to do that at Marist?

She is not a quitter. She has worked hard to be where she is, If she was a quitter she would of not have worked to be the shooter she is today, or learn to drive when the shot was taken away. She never quit she always worked hard for everything so she would never quit on her teammates.

OK. It looks like we are not Moving On here. Blais, Lai, Fogarty and Birchmeier have moved on an all of us can decide for ourselves how we want to feel about what they did and their reasons. In the spirit of the title of the thread - Moving On - I want to suggest that dwelling on the who, what, how and why of last April, especially on the eve of a new school year, is a to miss the point of the article. Let's please now put the focus where it belongs -on the players who above all other things basketball - are eager to wear the Red and White proudly and get things right once again in the MAAC WBB World. Either that or I will ask Red Fox 5 to lock the thread.

Wow....My first post and I get sort of slammed! Oh well...just remember, you can't move on without understanding where you have been and why. But yes, it is time to focus forward but ..what about Tori's status?

I think it would be kind of a cool thing if they could renumber the section where they put the opposing fans teams, Section 25.

I live in poughkeepsie and have been a season ticket holder for the womens bb for the past 5 years. I look forward to the season and have always found the team entertaining. I did graduate from dayton , i have no idea why maddy blais left but i can offer the observation that dayton plays in a large arena, seats 13,000 plus . They have a large following for both the mens and womens teams. I saw them play louisville in the sweet 16 in albany and they had lots of fans. Educationally dayton is a bigger school but quality wise probably not alot of difference. So who knows why she left but at this point what difference does it make? Got a new season coming up , lots of new players so i'm looking forward to see how we do this year

Dayton was her second choice - first choice was a school with a 4000 seat bleacher arena worse then ours, but that school said no
