They stood up to the tyrant that is Giorgis - that is what you are saying - you are a complete fool - Birchmeier had a good reason and it had nothing to do with staff and everything to do with Poughkeepsie - Lai said she didn't fit the system, and Blais chickened out.
Problem is these girls didn't get along like the teams before them - too much separation between them. Prior teams the girls had each others backs no matter what - no the case here. This is a character issue not a coaching or staff issue - 30 years of success vs one year of a couple kids leaving - I believe the 100's of other kids who played for him and continue to come back and those who moved on into the coaching ranks

Before we start pointing fingers at players lets think about this year scholarships are given up , a senior is taken off a team with one semester remaining in her senior year. i would have to say something is going wrong with the staff . We have asst. coaches that are afraid to speak up for the players we are in trouble. so lets look a little further than what glory the coach has brought Marist these are young women who stood up and said ENOUGH there is a difference between giving up and knowing when they had enough You are indeed a troll - you have a grudge with the coach nothing more.

One last think, Marist needs to put a restriction on these players transferring inside conference. ALMOST EVERY team does that, and Marist should as well. Think it is time to move on. Maybe start a thread about who we could be looking at with these new found scholarship opportunities.

Lets remember Lai had scholly offer from Quinnipiac, Marist should not let that even be an option.

I would be shocked to see any of them on another MAAC team - i could see Kat at UNH

I wouldn't put it past Blaise and Lai to examine other MAAC options, not after this little heel-turn. God forbid, Fogarty follows suit. Although, Nomar has a point with UNH being the closest and only D1 program near home. What I'm REALLY fearful of is Boston University being a suitor; being a usual early season headache. Anyways, I know for a fact that Iona, Fairfield, and QU were the first to here about all of this. And brother, they are licking their chops to go after one of the three. B.G. and the Murrays wouldn't delay those league transfer restrictions at all. Let's just go about our business and go back to what made the program thrive years ago: recruit the hell out of Ohio for players who work hard, work with the team, and work on a degree.

stratus, it is actually normal protocol to deny transfers to teams in your own league. Marist simply has to deny that possibility. That "fine" coach at Quinnipiac would be all over Lai and Blais.

Blais will get somewhere but not all schools are willing to give 2 year scholarship for 1 year of play
I would not be surprised at A10 or even Big East... No doubt she can play at that level

From a performance standpoint, Blais would be the only one I'd be concerned about staying in conference.

Why would she stay in conference?
If she wants to win in the MAAC her best chance is here with Giorgis.

Look I am not in the know like some of you. I watch the program from afar and go to most home games. The first weird sign at least to me was Tori not trying to come back. I know she gave it everything she has to come back from her injuries and that probably took the fun out of the game for her but wouldn't you want to give it one more shot? It is a long life of working after college is over. It seems like she had a good relationship with coach and Maddy, Could that be the reason why Maddy and the rest transferred they did not want to play without her? Again this is from an outsider who is not around them day by day, but it seemed like they all had a good relationship with coach so I am trying to piece the puzzle. Just seems like there is something more then just basketball happening. Was there and ego clash? relationship problems? Makes no sense at all

I could not imagine a player being allowed to transfer within conference if it required a release. The only way I see a kid ever staying within conference is if they graduated with a year of eligibility left. Of course I am assuming a player with eligibility remaining doesn't have to be released by their college after they have graduated.
Anyway, fox94 is correct when he said her best opportunity to win again in the MAAC is Marist and Giorgis.

She may just want to move on with her life. She fought so hard to just get on the court for this year. To me she is a warrior. I have no problem with her not applying for an extra year. If she had, wow, would have been so great.
