This is the best I've seen them play in quite a while. They are still getting used to each other. Hart & Curry played very well. It is true the lack of tall talent is hurting the Foxes. Trough tries but just does not have much talent. I know some here would like to see some of the other guys on the roster play. I have one question for those who want Momah, Colletta & Griffen play. Why? I happen to know coach Maker sees those guys play each day and he has decided they are not good enough to play during a game.
This game was winnable but these guys do not know how to win. Most have not won at the college level. I wrote previously this will take time, perhaps a couple years. Coach Maker has at least turned the boat around and has it pointed in the right direction. He does need to recruit well next year. However I think this team will play much better basketball over the coming 6 or 7 weeks and surprise a few MAAC teams and some Marist fans as well.

Yup. They need an immediate fix for down low. If they don't go get an impact JUCO for next year, I just don't understand what they're trying to do. If they had an athletic big today, they win by 10. Wishful thinking. They never seem to do what they need to do.. What is the definition of impact JUCO? If it's someone who comes in and is an ALL MAAC caliber player averaging 14 and 9 a night I agree with nomar. The administration and college president has run this program so poorly for so long that that type of player isn't coming here. Honestly that type of player isn't needed. What's neded are 1 or 2 Spongy Banjamin's or Matt Tullis' or Chris Handy's. Guys who can play the 5 and avg 7-9 pts and 6-8 rebounds. Solid real live DI 5's. Not all stars, just guys with a DI pulse. I think that type of player could be recruited here, esp since they would start and play 25-30 min. That type of player shouldv'e been recruited here over the last 6 years. This squad doesn't' have a DI 5. Also I'm not sympathetic to the better effort for this game. Ousame Drame? Soft inside guy who shoots 43% from the field. Q is dog crap. We led almost the entire game at home and peter out at the end. Bad loss. The D was non existent down the stretch. No physicality. How many times do Hart and Lewis have to lie on the floor until Marist steps up the physical game on the D end. Hearst should've been licking hard wood and searching for teeth a few times in that second half. Commit the HARD foul instead of letting guys get by for scores and than picking up soft fouls on soft challenges anyway. Establish a more physical, tighter defense and it will directly effect the other team as well as get in their head. I'm just sick of the losing, the soft play and the excuses. Hart is not yet 100% but was at least alot closer tonight. He's still a little weary on drives but looked much more like himself. His outside shot seems the thing he hasn't gotten back yet.

siena at their home isn't going to be any easier ..and they're on a good role with missing a couple key players ..

You just never know what he will do during a game. That being said I think Siena will have Long and Poole back and should win comfortably.

Turned the boat around? They have 1 win. The team played about as well as they can play today and still lost. I am obviously not seeing the optimism in Maker that others have.

I also didn't see much of the game because my son had CYO and baseball, but is it true Marist had the ball with 40 seconds left, tie game and Lewis had it stolen from him?

He had it and Conti put his hands on it and pulled it away out of bounds and they called a tie up. Couldv'e been out on Conti.

Just looked at the play by play why in the world would Troug make the second FT after missing first? ?? with .01 left - long shot but only shot to send it to over time is a tip in or catch and release

Nomar, I was one of the few fans at the game. Trough did miss the first free throw. He tried to miss his second attempt by throwing it off the backboard and he banked it right through the hoop. He couldn't believe it either!!!

Game was over when he clanked the first one off the front of the rim anyway since any miracle scenario would have required a Marist player to get to a hand on the miss before a Bobcat did. That hardly happened all game and it wasn't happening then.

I forgot this part of you. The Red sox/Patriot part of you. While we are both Marist fans, on days like this, I secretly hope the next time you take out the garbage a skunk is behind the can and sprays you all over

So, when they actually want to miss, they make a shot:). You just cant make this shit up with this team.
