I hope Jay Young is on the short list of people to interview.
He looks like a good candidate.

I'm still positive Yankee... I'm very optimistic that the admin will get it right . I just hope money doesn't hold us back. I sort of like the idea of Walsh.

Go with a Marist guy!! Someone that knows the community and the culture! 1. Jay Young (alum) 2. Rob Colbert (alum) 3. Paul Lee 4. Steve Sauers 5. Brian Laffin (alum) Tired of all these guys from the outside that are stepping stone guys.

Would love this hire .. didnt think Evans would be available as he just signed an extension @ NSU. Pretty much a local guy - NYC raised, good coach (coached @ New Paltz), worked his way up from the bottom, respect his players, poised, can recruit/teach/mold players. Reports on Twitter is that he was on Campus yesterday I believe.
Rob Johnson would tell him its not a good idea tho. Hahaa

or Rob Johnson would tell him that he is the type of guy Marist is missing True! Evans fits all the qualities we need in our next coach. He is a proven/successful D1 coach. Seems like his Players respect him. He uses his personnel very well, plays to each players strength! I watched a bunch of Norfolk St game the last 2 years, never seen him loose control. So cool, calm and collective. Love that he is a religious guy as well.

Some real good names being mentioned with the Marist job when you consider guys like Reed and Evans for current D1 coaches. However, I am noticing less and less mentioned about Walsh. I think he is right up there with those guys as I honestly don't see either of those 2 taking the job. Obviously no time to rush in making a decision, but if Marist really targets in on a guy, get the job done quick. Some of these guys obviously use the interest as a way to get a raise from their current employer. After hearing these names, it would be a real let down to get a current D1 coach who has a losing record, a major letdown. That would show to me that the first choices turned the job down. This is not the time for a personal conviction, "he might have not done great there, but damn, he is impressive and I know he will get it done here". If the AD and the hiring committee find themselves saying that to themselves the cure is to look in the mirror and say this 4 times, "I hired Chuck", then slap themselves back into reality. Please hire someone who has already shown they can win, not just someone who talks a good game and can wow in the interview.

I'm wondering who this mystery man is that Nomar and Yankee are talking about on the MAAC Board. Guys, has this guy been out of coaching for a while? On a scale of 1-10k, what are our chances?

I will say our chances to get a great coach are 9.5 out of a scale of 9 if they are going to hire who we are hearing. Now if its someone like Engles or Jones, we might as well quit being fans:), but I don't think that is going to happen.

So this is a guy who normally wouldn't even consider a MAAC school. So even the the great , great Siena would be jealous?
