First the journal doesn't write anything negative about Marist or do anything to pies them off.... not making his up I have spoken with some of the writers there. They made it very clear that negative articles don't get approved..... they will not ever talk about verbal commitment even when the players hometown paper does a large story about it because they have not gotten the ok from Marist.
That being said tha article lost all credibility when he suggested Hall could have been the difference in 2 of the games ...... noway would he have out performed Price to turn any of those losses to wins.

Now we know why no reporter has written about Bauer. The question may have been asked. Either the question did not get answered or the answer was squashed. The Po Jo sucks.

Ken, It is apparent that Martin changed Bauer's game by design to sabotage him which is confirmed by the fact that Bauer was not named captain because Martin planned to demoralize, humiliate and bench him to play his new recruits.
Bauer stayed true to Marist, played like a warrior, did not transfer and did what Martin directed him to do and then gets benched in his senior year? Not a good example for Martin to set for his younger players. I have seen posts on this board bashing Bauer for "looking around" and other nonsense. Bauer must be thinking what the hell am I doing here. . . Looks like Rusin is headed down the same path and I would not be surprised to see more transfers out. The sad thing is that Rusin is Martin's recruit. MARTIN DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO COACH. THAT IS THE PROBLEM.
Everyone is talking about the future. , there is no future with Chuck Martin.NEWSFLASH As far as last nights game, just about everything went wrong and the team is getting worse. What does that tell you? Fire Martin now, appoint Lee as interim head coach, give some hope to the players and start heading in the right direction or next season is a guaranteed bust.

Re: People are talking.....discuss www.poughkeepsiejournal.com/artic....Marist-s-Martin oldfox, Thanks for the link. Besides Chuck Martin, I guess we also need to replace the sports writers at the Poughkeepsie Journal. Not objective or accurate reporting. We all know what they are sucking. . . .

This guy writes a sensible balanced article and the nay sayers jump all over him like he is the Warren Commission. If he is not negative he must be part of the conspiracy, right? He makes so much sense he must be covering something up.

On Wednesday night, Martin said he has only heard encouragement from his bosses.
"Have I had the support of Dr. (president Dennis) Murray and (athletic director) Tim Murray? Absolutely. Every step of the way," he said. "The people who are making the decisions and the people that really matter are the ones saying, 'You're good. Hang in there.' "
Oh well, hope nobody was planning on a winning season any time in the next decade.

George Steinbrenner used to say things like that about his managers, right before he fired them.

And that is the main reason why the Yankees did not win from 1978 until 1996. Too many managerial changes and starting over and no patience. Once they realized they needed some stability in team leadership, they were able to turn it around.
Cudos to ggaff and petagay for making some excellent points over the last couple of days.

What I find very interesting about this commentary is that the writer is not calling for Martin's job, "not yet anyway". For a paper that has historically been a shill for Marist athletics this is a subtle but telling departure from the norm, and, I think, is grudging recognition that Marist Nation is not at all happy with Martin and the state of the mens BB team. For PoJo to run this kind of commentary means that "negativity" with repect to the team exists in a telling way beyond the confines of this board.

And once Mr. Steinbrenner found the right guy he stuck with him and they won a lot. That's why he'll go down in baseball history as one of the best owners ever.
The above statement is from a certified Yankee Hater.
I do not think Marist has found the right guy, yet.
