The Manhattan Jaspers of the Bronx, NY bring their 1-0 MAAC record and new coach John Gallagher to the McCann Center to take on your Marist Red Foxes. The Foxes look to move to that coveted 2-0 in the MAAC, and separate themselves form MAAC co-leaders Canisius, St. Peter's, the fighting Maciariello's of Siena and today's opponent Manhattan, before returning to out of conference play.
Go Red Foxes!!!

I caught some of the Manhattan/Mount game. Their frontcourt looked pretty skilled between Rouzan/Li. Rouzan a bit more traditional, but Li looked comfortable off the dribble and spotting up from three. Might see some more Price than usual for that matchup.
Battle of freshman guards: Winston vs. Collins another matchup to watch.

I will be surprised if Marist doesn't win this by double digits. Bad matchup for Manhattan. They have almost no depth. Our defense should tire them out, make them shoot low percentage. Plus, they will have to play soft on defense. Could be a high scoring game for foxes.

We are clearly the better team ,we should see more separation in the second half ,just a few defensive errors to be corrected .

Great job by entire team and staff. 2-0 with big road win and dominant home win.

Four players in double figures, good ball movement and 13 assists. Rebounded well.
Impressive start to conference play. Played up to a contender on the road, and kept the intensity at home against a likely bottom half team.

Should of easily scored over 80 points in this game. Have to make the easy/open shots. Great team defense in general. Good win! 5-2, 2-0, first in the MAAC. 🦊

Pascarelli had a terrific game. Harris had his shoulder iced after his last sub out. Hope that's not a concern going forward.
I have a hard time shaking pessimism as a fan, as a rule. However, as with the New York Rangers, I am coming around to the idea that we're actually a legit contender. Brave new world, man.

Harris came off the court holding his left (I believe) arm/shoulder and was escorted to the locker room. Returned to the game later. Yes. Hopefully it’s no big deal.

We are clearly the better team ,we should see more separation in the second half ,just a few defensive errors to be corrected . Spot on. Team came out and dominated the first 10 minutes of the 2nd half. Great job by the staff for drawing up the adjustments to stop Manhattan’s cuts to the hoop and, of course, the players for executing the changes. We’ve only just begun…..but this team looks to be a year ahead of where I thought they would be in their progression. Thought they would struggle to replace Gardener’s offense, but the team concept Dunne and Co. have come up seems to be perfectly in the teams wheelhouse. The offense is a thing of beauty when they move the ball to create open shots. Never did I think that Collins and Pascarelli would hit the ground running the way they have. Particularly Collins. His dunk brought the house down. Allen’s skill in the post demand a double team or else the ball is going in the hole. He bring a variety of moves in the paint and connecting at a 57% clip despite going 1-6 from 3 so far. Like I said. It’s early, their youth will probably betray them at times, and who knows how they match up against the other 9 MAAC Teams, but man, it’s hard not be just a little giddy over their performance so far.

Community businesses needs to start thinking of creating an nil so we can keep or get players. We will be a more desirable spot with what's looking like a very nice year.

The program needs more sponsors.
Iona has electronic billboards displaying theirs in Hynes.

TM was too busy positioning the student photographers on the baseline today. You would think he would be in the president’s box with potential program supporters. Seriously, Siena’s NIL Collective just held a major event at a restaurant in downtown Albany and honored several former players from Fran McCaffery’s glory days team the night before at their MAAC opener against Rider. Got to be in it to win it.
