I thought Brickner+Harris was a good pairing. Daughtry/Salton was the spot that hurt offensively. Would like to see Cooley slide to the 4 and maybe a third guard or Sulack and see how they hold up on defense. Harris is shooting 45% from 3 this season. Not a bad option when you’re trying to get over the hump in a close game.

Farris can't handle the ball and is a terrible defender. Besides, why play a senior that you (the staff) already know can't help you when you can play a freshman or sophomore who might, or at least you get to find out quickly whether he can or not.

the new player excuse cannot be used by most teams anymore ,because of the portal ,,very rare teams bring back the majority of their previous years team .so most teams are dealing with it ..having said that ..im pretty impressed with the team so far .Dunnes game plan was great yesterday ,,feed the big man ..he was destroying them ..and if it gets like that again ..we shouldn't worry about others getting their shots in .especially if they don't have a hot hand ..i'm thinking Allen might have a game or two this year where he scores 30 .they were not doubling him yesterday much ..he really should have had 30 ..

The difference in the game was the amount of times UNH got to the line. They shot 27 fts to 10 for Marist. And I don't think UNH is as bad as some of you guys think. Brickner was not good tonight. Bad turnovers at the wrong times. Still may be recovering. The dunk was impressive. They could never quite get over the hump, but I'm not at all discouraged. Pascarelli didn't shoot well. In HS he was a lights out shooter. He will come around. They will be fine. They allowed too much penetration. That led to bail outs at the line. That's why they lost the game. If Brickner has an average game they win. If Collins had an average game they win. They'll bounce back.

I'm interested in seeing how much longer Dunne starts Collins and Pascarelli. Both exploded out of the gate but their minutes and productivity have waned. Dramatically so in the New Hampshire game. If my memory serves me neither got significant minutes during the second half comeback against the Wildcats in favor of the presumed starting backcourt of Brickner and Harris. None of this is to imply they aren't ready to make significant contributions. I am confident they will, particularly Collins who won't necessarily need to be relied on to score. I'm thinking that Dunne may have seen enough to have a handle on a rotation and where the freshman fit in best.
Like you said ggaff, Pascarelli was a very good shooter in high school, but so far it hasn't translated well to the longer 3 point distance. Overall he is shooting 37.5% for the season, despite 70% of his shots coming from beyond the arc where he is shooting a dismal 17.6%. He is 6 for 7 from inside the arc. Setting him up for 3 point shots might not be the best use of his skills at this point in this very young career. LOL

6 degrees of separation matchup that might be of some interest as Fairfield (1-4) takes hosts New Hampshire in a Black Friday tilt. 7pm, ESPN+

Love how people look for any way to defend a loss I was responding to a comment made by another poster with literally just the result. It seems you are the one looking for something.

Love how people look for any way to defend a loss Man you love to go negative with the men's program, they were 41/2 point dogs on the road and lost by 3, don't need to " defend " the loss.

Yes because the men’s team has given us every reason. We talk about turning a corner having better players…. But end of day this team looks same as last year.
A different team would have beaten UNH

A different team would have beaten UNH 4 games, all on road. Brickner still rounding into form. Breaking in at least 3 new huge contributers. Can we give them some time before we compare them to end of season last year Marist?

My bad I didn’t realize that winning away games wasn’t a thing

They definitely should of won this game though. NH shot the ball well and timely. Tough loss but they will be competitive most nights, you can tell. I like this young team. Like I said weeks ago, they are an athletic defensive/3 & D type player away.
