Softball down 4-1 heading into the 7th (with 6-7-8 coming up)
They have hurt themselves. 4 errors and 13 left on base through 6
Let's hope for a rally in the bottom of the 7th

6 errors in a 5-1 loss. Not a great time to play your most atrocious game of the year!

6 errors in a 5-1 loss. Not a great time to play your most atrocious game of the year! Got to believe that Canisius entered this game with a huge chip on their collective shoulders over the post-season awards. Especially the pitcher Giese, who improved her record to 17-9 and clocked a home run off of Kiley Meyers who beat Giese out for Pitcher of the Year despite fewer wins. Freshman infielder Samantha Rogers committed 5 errors all year. Today she botched 4. Grad student Sophia Recrosio, who I believe is a Canisius transfer stranded 6 of those 13 baserunners.

Well softball falls down 5-0 in the fifth. Baring an incredible comeback, a very disappointing showing the MAAC tourney

And platted 1 run in 12 innings. In fact, I didn’t see too many balls hit out of the infield! 10-zip;see ya next season!

If they could have put some runs on Giese in game 1 in the first few innings, maybe could have had a different weekend

Sixth seeded Siena claims their first ever MAAC Softball Championship with a 7-6 win over Canisius. Siena was the last team in. Wasn’t a good year for the favorites in softball. LOL.

Baseball finished 10-14 in the MAAC and will be scoreboard watching from Thursday to Saturday to see if their season will continue past a non-league DH at UMass Lowell on Friday.
They'll need Quinnipiac to lose the series at first place Fairfield and Manhattan to lose the series at home to third place Rider. Both those teams are 9-12 in the MAAC.
Marist wins head to head with Manhattan and a three way tie, but would lose H2H with QU. So the only scenario where Marist gets the results it wants but still misses the tournament is if Q goes 1-2 and Manhattan gets swept.

Quinnipiac and Manhattan both lost today, which is good news. Can't clinch tomorrow but can't be eliminated either. It will come down to Saturday, but tomorrow will determine how many scenarios work in favor of Marist, even if it's only one.

Foxes get help again as both Quinnipiac and Manhattan lost again on Friday.
Marist makes the MAAC tournament if tomorrow they get another Quinnipiac loss or if Manhattan (who is now eliminated) wins.
EDIT: doubleheader today apparently for Rider and Manhattan. Go Jaspers.

Manhattan beats Rider 12-6 to eliminate Quinnipiac and send Marist to the MAAC tournament as the #6 seed.
Marist will play Rider at 11 am Wednesday. If they win they play Fairfield at 11 am Thursday; if they lose to Rider they start the elimination game grind 7 pm Wednesday vs the loser of Canisius/Mount St. Mary's. Tournament is once again at Clover Stadium in Pomona, just off the Palisades Parkway in Rockland County.
