That's not true at all. You have to buy into the Motion. We just won the MAAC Championship two years ago.

This team is to passive. nobody on the team wants to have physical contact. When did you see a player pull a charge? They have to play much more physical if they don't want the same outcome.

I don't think the Motion is obsolete at all - we are literally only 1 1/2 years removed from back to back MAAC Championships and 2 1/2 years from what I truly believe was one of the best Marist teams to ever step on the court.
I also think that there is D1 talent on this roster but they just might be in wrong system. Zaria and Fischer are very good basketball players but they have not adapted to the motion well at all. Also the staff has failed to bring in that 3 point sharp shooter.
When you watch some of these games the motion is getting them open shots but the players are just not making them.
Not sure how this gets fixed quickly? Our two best players do not seem suited for the offense we run - and no Erin isn't going to adopt another.
So is Piddock the right PG for motion (I think so), Maeve looks like she can play the 5 in the offense, need to see more of Tompkins. Really like the 2 recruits we got coming next year BUT they are not enough. Can we get a true 3PT shooter from portal?

The offense is not outdated. The caliber of players is not the same as it was a few years ago. It’s just not. Hard to kill BG for that. Recruiting can’t be easy when the whole world knows the head coach is going to retire.
I fear the post BG era is going to get ugly fast. Not a knock on Erin or the staff, just the reality of marist basketball, men or women. Almost no success outside of a few miracles ie Smits, Giorgis etc

But, yea, if the Marist Administration doesn’t value the difference between the BG era and the Ken Babineau era it will be friends and family only in the stands in very short order..

I don’t have high hope.
Indifference and penny pinching is the norm.
Show me I’m wrong and allow the full scholly allotment

What went wrong with this program? BG is the single greatest coach in Marist history and even he could not sustain success under this AD. Sad When the Men's team stinks Dunne gets blamed, when the Women's team stinks the AD gets the blame and Giorgis gets a pass, curious.

I think a little column A a little column B. Giorgis' last 4 recruiting classes have been MAAC average at best on the whole. But to have to compete against teams using extra scholarships is a pretty unnecessary constraint

One coach has 11 MAAC championships, a Sweet Sixteen, 5 NCAA wins and the other DOESNT

I fear it gets worse when the Jedi Master leaves after this year. I wish her well, but I don’t see it improving. The Jedi Master/Gebbia tag team was the secret sauce…

The whole sales pitch on Dunne was that he could do more with less. He generally had Spu at league average, which was considered a win based on their lack of resources, campus, facilities etc. The expectation was that if he could win a little there, he could win more here. That hasn’t been the case. Giorgis on the other hand built a dynasty lol. It’s not even close to the same thing
