Why - that would have been so disrespectful!
Thank you for 22 years but we are going to see if we can get someone better and if we dont you can have it.
No I am not her biggest supporter - I am very worried about where this team is right now but I do believe that she absolutely deserved this shot WITHOUT having to go through a national search

No I am not her biggest supporter - I am very worried about where this team is right now but I do believe that she absolutely deserved this shot WITHOUT having to go through a national search Many national searches occur with current assistant staying. A search is also a way to hear voices from other people in profession. Ways to hear ideas what others see could help program. Coach beating out other candidates could do nothing but look even better. And if a great candidate did emerge, then that isn't a negative either. Why did you seem to think she wouldn't have come out on top in a search?

You can always do a national search. Show some confidence in your assistant that has been with the program so long

I think it would have been a slap in the face to do one at all. She interviewed for 22 years.
Yeah the mens side must have had a ton of “ideas” that would help program over the years - no it doesn’t work that way.
If I had someone who had worked for me for 20 years and an opportunity opened above them - I would hire them or let them go, I wouldn’t do outside search first.
Loyalty means something - and NO doing an outside search and then giving her the job is NOT loyalty

Either way, let's hope coach gets this straightened out. Everyone agrees she is a good person we all want to succeed

Penn State assistant Tiffany Swoffard named head coach at Canisius. Welcome and please don't be as successful against Marist as your predecessor.

They had a great year. CTD was a brilliant hire. Kudos to the FF administration for rolling the dice on an outsider after a championship run. But, I stopped reading after the fourth paragraph where the writer implied FF is on UConn’s trajectory. I hope they do it. But maybe don’t lose by 33 points in the opening round of the NCAA tournament or do something historic in the MAAC first.
