Hope they found a hidden gem - but always nervous when we are only ones to offer

Interesting commit. Had a good year for Hillsborough. I have to give this staff the benefit of the doubt on their signings. They have done really well lately. Replaces Farris I guess but wasn't where I was looking at first. So hopefully this isn't because someone might be leaving.

Hope they found a hidden gem - but always nervous when we are only ones to offer I think that’ll always be concerning but knowing we were the only team in on Ituka and Gardner gives me a little more hope that this staff can find diamonds in the rough

I watched the most up to date HL of Caleb from his freshmen season at Hillsborough. And I must say, I see what the coaches are seeing. He attacks the lane! He's either scoring or dishing it to someone who does. His shot looks fine to me but he doesn't seem confident in it. But looking at his stats this year he shot way more so that issue might be over. Some big dunks near the end of the HL.

Collins is really the only guard that can attack the rim, so hopefully he can add that dimension next year.

Collins is really the only guard that can attack the rim, so hopefully he can add that dimension next year. Likely their thinking. Allows Brickner to be more of an attacking wing player too. Less ball in his hands

Been saying this since before the season started. Brickner is a sf. Collins is really the only guard that can attack the rim, so hopefully he can add that dimension next year. Likely their thinking. Allows Brickner to be more of an attacking wing player too. Less ball in his hands

Soild combo guard with great ball handling skills. And can score at all 3 levels. Avg 23p 4r 4a & 4s in hs. He reminds me of Collins. Just need an athletic defensive true PF. youtu.be/AjZheBBy0cI?si=7i6WmE8ISGlTyM-o

We might be dancing right now......
Love the "through his agent" - just make it pro, pay them, make them sign contracts, be able to fire them

Or Marist might be in the same place because they wouldn’t have recruited Max.
There is no stopping the professionalization of college sports. I know everyone hates the NCAA but they are correct in lobbying Congress for legislation that puts some universal guard rails around NIL. At the very minimum there should be uniform rules every school must follow and a standard NIL contract across college sports. Before NIL the portal was an organizational tool. Now it’s becoming a marketplace too. Nowankwo has an agent shopping him to big time programs because there is a demand for his talent and those schools have a supply of NIL money. It’s just capitalism and self interest. It’s just how rational people act when self interest is called for in decision making. Forever before NIL the kid would get money under the table to pick a school. It’s better that it’s above board. If it takes an act of congress to get NIL under control and make it a uniform and transparent contracting process so be it. NIL information should be public. It’s absolutely crazy that schools can’t be directly involved in the NIL process. In what other business is the compensation paid to an employee under control of a third party. It’s a recipe for outside interference with a programs roster at best and point shaving at worse.
I get why NIL rubs people the wrong way. But it’s here to stay and it needs to be gotten under control. These athletes generate billions every year. They deserve a cut because they talents and dedication to their sport creates the product that generates the revenue.
