This hurts. Always tough to lose a long range threat in today’s game. I wonder if there’s any chance of this scholarship being filled or if we just hold it and punt to next season.

Well, we were none to happy about recruiting 4 guards in the class of 2020, but as it turns out Marist lost 4 guards off the roster that started 19-20. Hines and Turner were a detriment. Jack was a D2 guy. So only Sagl is a net negative. The class of 2020 is an upgrade. I can see all but Wright getting a ton of time and if they truly commit to defense, working their way into the starting line-up. I could see Marist having an all-rookie team pick in Byrd or Cooley.

That's unfortunate, really hoped to see him expand his game and use his size to drive to the hoop more over the coming years.
Closer to home though, does that mean Niagara/Canisius are in the running? Maybe Robert Morris or Detroit? Not sure what other D1 options there are close to Toronto
Edit, UB, Cuse, and St. Bona are close as well, just don't see as much playing time there

He is a 3 point shooter who had the build to be more. I think he had a good shot to be a team 3 all maac guy by his junior or senior year. But, hard to blame a kid wanting to stay near home in this day of covid. I wish him good luck.

Great post with a key point. I loved Sagl offensive potential, but he was never going to be a good defensive player. So, maybe in terms of Dunnes system, this loss doesnt hurt as much as it could.

That's what the NHL thought Go Bruins Ugh shouldn't have brought this up. Go literally anyone beside the Bruins and Islanders.

Unfortunate news but certainly completely understandable during these times. I wish him nothing but the best.
Much like last year now the young recruits in the backcourt are going to have to be ready, and able right away. Sagl was easily our best outside shooting threat and that needs to be replaced.

I am hopeful the offense won’t have to rely on the 3 as much going forward with Sullivan and Byrd getting to the hoop. I think Herasme can take over Sagl’s outside shooting role. Last year both shot 148 three pointers and MH actually made 4 more than Sagl did. Lets get to the hoop and the foul line more.

I wish him the best! He was a very nice person that always talked straight and we will miss his experience and offensive power in the future. Good luck Tyler.
