Certainly the type of player I like to see us going after.

According to verbalcommits we've also offered 6'2 JUCO guard Brian Moore. Originally from Kingston it appears and attends Northeastern Oklahoma A&M.

Lost his dad to cancer at age 10, his best friend drowned in a creek last summer only a mile or two from my house. From the basketball side of things, averaged more than 18 ppg in JUCO last season. 75 percent FT shooter, positive A/TO ratio. Might do him good to have his support system nearby if he comes to Marist.

Good info Shooter. I'd certainly root for the kid even if he didn't come here knowing that.

I thought Moore was on the short side, definitely not 6'2", but I could be mistaken. That is the reason I thought he did not get any offers when he graduated HS.

Moore has offers from 10 schools including us (Stephen F Austin, UMBC, RMU, St. Bonaventure) so he should get a scholarship somewhere. From the sound of things the JUCO route seemed to have worked for him

Matt McCool (2022) 6'8 forward South Kent School (CT) - Ranked as a Top 120 Player in New England by Prep Hoops and Top 40 by NERR, McCool is a mismatch D1 level forward capable of playing multiple positions. He is an excellent passer and a very good ball handling forward. He can get defensive rebounds and lead the team in transition. He has a high IQ, both on and off of the court, and is a great leader. McCool is an excellent student, already has taken college credit classes. Video highlights NERR profile Good work around the hoop. Some chops from distance. Moves well. A couple of nifty passes.

Watching his HL's I think that write up is pretty much spot on. More smooth then athletic, but hustles and knows the type of player he is. He seems like one of those players his opponents will hate playing against and feel like he's been there for years and years. I think he'd be a very good PF in our system.

Like his all around game. Haven't had a guy like him in a while. Get him!
