The transfer portal will fill up very quickly end of April
SOURCES: The @ncaa Division I Council will discuss the implementation of a one-time transfer waiver on April 24. The Council will not vote on it that day, but a vote IS expected to take place on May 20. Told the measure is expected to pass and would immediately apply. Stay tuned.

Definitely if this happens. I could see mid majors get more talented players in but they would only stay for a year, maybe 2.
I feel like unless you have a good reason to transfer then you can get the waiver but allowing for free transfers is not a great idea IMO

I agree. I think it should be only if you are a grad transfer or if your head coach leaves you can play immediately. Other than that, no waivers.

One thing was for sure. Iona got ahead of this curve 5 years ago when they learned to game the hardship waiver process. Now that the advantage just might evaporate, no problem, enter Rick Pitino. Brilliant.
They put more strategic thought into winning at MBB than most colleges do on maintaining accreditation. LOL
