Mediocre coaches just don't go to the Big Dance ,,they just don't .Masiello's not mediocre nor is Cluess .. and if u check his teams in the tournament ,, there's been several times when they've played in the 3rd game in the MAAC tournament . After Maker it was a darn safe hire and we all know we needed that .A few less boneheaded plays this year and our record could be much different ..I'll reserve judgement on if this is a disappointing season when the season ends ...Lets hope for a Niagara loss tonight ..nothing like playing a team that you've beaten twice already this year .as St. Peters knew when they played us last year in the tournament . We cannot play Niagara in the 1st round. NU can be seeded 5, 7 or 8 but not 6. in tonight's games, if either Niagara or Iona win and the other loses, we will play 6 Quinnipiac. if those 2 both win, Iona gets the 6 and the Foxes; if they both lose the 6 seed becomes Manhattan. I dont doubt you shooter as Im not doing the research myself bu daleydose is saying the oppoiste. That NIA can be the 6th but Iona cannot. Heres what he posted after Wed games Quinnipiac (10-10): Can finish as No. 5 or 6 seed. Can clinch first-round bye with a Niagara loss Friday at Canisius AND an Iona loss Friday at Saint Peter’s. Niagara (9-10): Can finish as No. 5, 6, 7, or 8 seed. Can clinch first-round bye with a win Friday at Canisius. Iona (9-10): Can finish as No. 5, 7, or 8 seed. Can clinch first-round bye with a win Friday at Saint Peter’s AND a Niagara loss Friday at Canisius. Manhattan (8-11): Has clinched an opening-round game on Tuesday, March 10 and will finish as No. 6, 7, 8, or 9 seed. Can clinch No. 6 seed with a win Friday vs. Fairfield, a Niagara loss Friday at Canisius, AND an Iona loss Friday at Saint Peter’s.

Sagl will be fine a 3 point specialist like Funk was but he wont be more that a jump/spot up shooter. St Furcy just needs to gain some consistency which I think he will. I really like Herasme, Jones, and Bell for next year and hope those 2 freshmen take a nice jump. Hopefuly Byrd can help day 1 but we will see. We need Dunne to get us out of this hole and this year's recruiting will basically decide if thats the case Both Sagl and St. Furcy averaged 24MPG and we finished in last place, both are tweeners , Sagl is a one dimensional spot-up 3 point shooter and St. Furcy can sometimes gets to the rim without losing the ball, 10-13 MPG each next year if this team gets better.

Herasme exponentially got better. I have hope Sagl and furcy can improve dramatically too. But yeah, we need a nice 2-4 player infusion.

My preference in that case would be Niagara 1st..Quinny 2nd and Manhattan 3rd ..as Masiello is also good Tournament coach ..

Sagl and St. Furcy will be fine. Sagl led all MAAC freshman in scoring, and was 3rd in 3-pt percentage among freshman with at least 50 attempts. He's listed at 6-5 / 200, Funk was 6-6 / 190. He shot better than Funk did as a freshman as well. He also had more steals this year than Funk ever had in a season, and playing fewer minutes. He might end up a sixth man and not a starter, but haven't seen a reason why he couldn't excel there. St. Furcy ended tied for the freshman lead in steals with 34. He was 5th in 3-pt percentage among freshman (36%). He had 14 blocks too, more than 6-10 freshman Jacco Fritz. St. Furcy needs to cut down on turnovers and improve at the line. The foundation is there though. Some other notable freshman stats: Gary Harris (SIE) 11 assists and 25 turnovers Armon Harried (CAN) shot 33% from 2 and 24% from 3 Darryl Banks (SPU) shot 35% from the field, 30% from 3 Fritz (CAN) and Estrada (SPU) led MAAC freshmen with 56 turnovers each. Yeh , i was a little surprised when looking at some of our freshmen stats compared to others. do they vote for ROY after tournament .i think so ..all rookie team should come out shortly ?? Both our guys are very much in the mix ..

What more could we ask for ,a tean that we beat twice during the season . and a team whose coach can't get over the hump in the post season . and who do we play after we beat both of them .??
