And you and cement head's unfounded optimism had contributed what to the board?

I've read most of your post and can seriously say that I've not learned anything. Which is ok since Ive long since stopped expecting I would. All I've ever wanted was for people on this board to funnel their enthusiasm into an expectation and pressure on the admin to become a successful program. I go back to the Steve Smith days and its painful to think about what we have become.

So not being a rah rah guy and feeling good about our tourney chances, after yet another last place MAAC finish, offends people on this board?
Hope springs eternal, I guess.
Good luck...........

Some fans are like that. It's ok.

Who's offended? I see the negative guys making pronouncements they have given up on team. Ok, fine. No skin off my back. But then, a loss, oh look, back to trash team or posters who support team again. You aren't exactly Mr. Cheery rah rah red fox guy (which is honestly fair with circumstances). Have you felt like you can't express your feelings? I think this board allows both positive and negative comments.

No ,,not offended ,,Rules put forward by RedFox 5 ..the forum rules ...pretty much if someone would break those i or others might get offended ..Critical analysis is always good to hear both pro and con about the program ..Its just a little unusual to see some posters lurking until they lose ,then post negatively ,but i'll say i don't lose sleep over it .I think most of us have had our moments on the board of being positive and negative about aspects of games and player developement as well as coaching decisions ..It's the lurkers that are a little hard to understand .

The "Negative" people are the ones who live in the real world the rest of you are all about living in the "fantasy world", making sure no-ones feelings get hurt and that everyone gets a trophy no matter what place they end up in. It is sicking how little you care, you are so oblivious to awful basketball you actually enjoy this.
I listen to you people and it is like if they can somehow win one game in the MAAC tournament then this year was a massive success.
It is like you can't understand they are 7-22 337 RPI and they accomplished that with the 321st worst schedule in country.
You think they are one point guard away from the promised land. 2 of Dunne's recruits have already been kicked off the team, and reading this thread some think Cavanaugh is next. We don't have a single goto player, they are ALL so inconstant - not one of them has more double digit scoring games than they do single. You never now what player is going to show up from game to game NONE.
How many of you expect them to be at minimum .500 team next year (not just in the MAAC) - anything less is such a MASSIVE failure. And if they do somehow manage .500 it needs to be mostly because of Enoh and some of the younger guys - Cubbage, Jones, and Zion are Seniors and gone for year after.
We have 1 recruit for 2020 - yes I realize all the best players wait until a few month before school start to make a decision - so we got that to look forward to.
Where I agree big time with thoops is we need 2 A players - as of right NOW we have Zero!!!! I am hoping Enoh is one (but I felt that way about Turner and that didn't work out), maybe Byrd is the 2nd one.
Yeah sorry we didn't jump up and down all year about how much progress was made.....
The losing has gotten so old...
When the enthusiasm that our OOC is perfect to help us get some wins and build confidence for season failed miserably, the flower children said that didn't matter it is the MAAC that really matters, now that we ended up dead last in an awful MAAC conference, it is nothing else mattered except the MAAC tournament..... when they lose it will just another excuse.

I think we have to give Dunne 3-4 years. Next year has to be better. He needs to add at least one bonafide star with these last two recruits.
I know Yankee doesn't like to hear it but.......... The AD absolutely has to go if this doesn't work out. The other sports do not make up for 13 yrs of losing in this sport. He's had way too many chances to figure out what's wrong. A school this good relative to it's peers should never have this kind of problem.
I know WBB is very successful and other sports have been relatively successful, but the public sees this failure more than they see any of the successes.
I get a lot more of "why does Marist suck?" than any compliments on the other sports. The scores on the ticker are what people see. I would think at some point the school would be a little embarrassed. THe AD always sits with D'Argenio (Siena AD). He wins in MBB and nobody calls for his head. They have been bad in many other sports. But those results are in small print in the TU and aren't on ESPN. I want success. This has been a ridiculous 10+ yrs..
I'm not giving up though. I still think Dunne is very good. It's the process that seems to be flawed. Coaches take over at dumps and win. Next year is the key. Having 10 guys dressed for 3'4 of the yr certainly didn't help this yr.

I agree and have also said we need two big time players but I dont think Enoh will be one of them. I think he'll be an improvement over Sjoberg and be a solid depth piece but the 2 stars need to come from elsewhere. Byrd maybe. Dunne has major recruiting work left to do

Dunne has major recruiting work left to do I think our center rotation will be sound though with Enoh ,Jones and Tordoff , looking for another forward to make that rotation sound with Herasme , Bell ,, then we really have StlFurcy , Sagl , at guard with Byrd ....Looking at Cubbage filling in wherever needed . Jones has really improved his offensive game so we have to be happy about that . One thing about Cubbage ..i know we saw him struggle to beat his defender often ..but He did not get the ball picked much at all this year bringing the ball down ..unlike Hines last year that had a lot of problems with that .

Herasme made A huge jump this year. We can see big jumps next year from others as well. I am only expecting a 5 PT, 5-6 rebound type of player in Enoh. Byrd will help, but not a savior fteshman year. Incremental improvements needed going forward. Dunnes job is to get red foxes to respectability. He is on the way. He has installed the defensive mindset and system. Now the talent infusion is next step.
