Give up on what? There is NOTHING there to give up on? They are 335th best team in the NCAA. What is your end game this year - one win in the MAAC tourney? They can't win the MAAC, they can't win the tourney - I'm not wasting time hoping they can beat Canisius (that is not a big feat in of itself).
What are you holding on to this year? That someone has a great game so you can hang you hat on the idea that they will all of a sudden play like that game in and game out and carry it into next year?
We just need to hope that the 2 new guys are THAT good, and that the Freshman make jump as Sophomores (that doesn't happen this year), hope that Dunne finds one more real player - preferably 6'7"+

Based upon the lack of depth that is really being exposed over last several games, have to wonder if either Cavanaugh or Makeny will "move on" in order to free up another scholi

They are playing hard. Just lack enough talent to this point. Publically saying you give up on them? Why? Just discussion, not blasting you. I honestly just don't get it

I support them, but they blew this season. I honestly don’t care that they try really hard or they give it their all... I want to win.
I don’t watch them or support them for their effort. Don’t care. They are 6-18 against the lowest RPI schedule in history of Marist so why should I take time out of my day to watch what is god awful basketball?
Because they are trying really really hard? No that isn’t enough

Cavanaugh...yeeesh, I've seen enough. I'm sorry in advance to our cheerleader poster friends for not being supportive, but he can't play at this level. Dude should go to Montclair State or Kean and average 12 ppg as a starting guard in Division III his last 3 seasons. Nothing wrong with that level of ball and school.

Disappointing, as OF says they werent chucking up three's out of laziness, they couldnt get by their man tonight and Jones couldnt finish down low.
The team is bad but theyre only 2-3 players away. Those players need to be two guards who can shoot drive and pass and a better post. Hopefully Byrd and Enoh are two of those players. Dunne needs to come up big with his other open spots. Herasme, Bell, Jones, Cubbage and Sagl can be part of an above .500 MAAC team if the 2 or 3 other key pieces are brought in. Dunne NEEDS to hit on those pieces for next year or else its back to Maker land basketball for the next half decade

Missed 11 free throws, 3 more made in regular time would have given us a win

It is possible ,,but not probable , that Dunne will enter the Mike Maker zone .gotta get a few wins out of this last 5 . What no late season little tear? No jumping or rolling around (at least in my case)?

The lack of a playmaker killed them last night. Byrd is that. When TS is out there, it's 4 on 5. Pretty hard to score when only four options are available. The 2 guys coming in will solve two problems. They need one more impact guy. They have the nice surrounding pieces in place. All that being said, they should have won the last three games. Obviously, they can't be that far off.. They should have 8 or nine league wins if they didn't crumble. They should have won a minimum of 3 more league games. St Furcy was terrible last night. Guys need to be consistent. I want Bell playing tons of minutes. He was forced into tough shots last night. I can really see the snipers benefitting from Byrd.
Cubbage looks slower to me again. He was fantastic for about 5 games and he looks tired to me. Still think we can do some damage if we get our sea legs back.

perfect example of not having a go to guy ,,in overtime ,Herasme has the ball at the top of the key with 7 left on the clock ..thinks he can do it himself ..tries to do a little shake and bake and gets stuffed ..We need a guy that has the ball with 7 or 5 left on the clock and can power to the basket , spot up and take the jumper ..or make a nice pass to an open man ..I don't see we have that now .Or we better figure out who that guy is going forward the rest of the season .I think the closest thing we have to that now is St. Furcy or Bell .

I want them to attack the basket next game even if they get stuffed a bunch. It has to at least be a threat. Yesterday's 41 out of 55 shots being 3 pointers is dreadful.

No that isn’t enough Plenty of hard core fans still attend Marist games no matter the outcome ,I guess youre not in that category , It was a bad loss yesterday ,,very bad ..I guess youre leaving the forum for the remainder of year ? didn't that happen last year too and u came crying back to be let back in the loop after Dunne's team nearly doubled Makers wins from the previously year ? I expect that to happen this year as well as they fine tune their end of year run ..see u in a few ..
