The men’s loss to FF was simply awful. It’s the type of game - at home against another struggling team - they have to win to avoid the PIG. They gave back what the gained by beating St. Peter’s.
The Women’s loss against FF was disappointing in the context of winning the regular season. Not avoiding the PIG. The women’s win as many games in a single year as the men win in 4.

FYI Iona has won the MAAC tourney the last 4 years ,,they are defending 4 time champs , they are on a roll ,,they have pieces from last year, unfortunately their brilliant coach has been ill all year . It has taken awhile ,they are rolling . they had bulletin board material cause Jones acted like an A$$..If we line up all of our losses i would not rank this one in the bad category ..Itll be a good game wednesday between Siena / Iona ....The Womens MBB loss against Fairfield was a bad loss ...the loss against Princeton ..not so much .I wouldn't say it was a bad loss ,,i wouldn't say it was a good loss though either obviously .. The Princeton women have lost only one game this season.. to a ranked big10 school. Iona has 9 wins this season, those are not comparable losses. The MAAC this season has been so up and down, teams go on win streaks like Iona did. Honestly wouldn't surprise me if Iona loses their next 3 games without even looking at their schedule. With the way the MAAC is this season, IMO there are no good losses. We have beaten the #1 team and lost to the #11 team. We can beat any team in this conference but the team should not be praised for a loss IMO. I am fine with praising the individual performances in the game, like St. Furcy had a nice one, but we lost ... period. and i said as much ,,there are no good losses ...but there are bad losses ,,this wasn't one of them .A 26 point loss to St. Peters ,,is not the same as the loss in this game ..we can agree to disagree but thats how i see it ..I have never said it was a good loss ..

I agree and if you look back at the women's FF game thread I am sure there were not many positive comments and we were hard on them

Agree about the Fairfield game , loss to a crappy team is a bad loss no matter the margin ..

My bad, but the way you talk about it makes me think you think it is a good loss. I think you are hyping this Iona team tooo much, they are not same as the previous and I think it is mainly due to Cluess being out. Let's say this was the women's team vs Quinny this year. We have a lead of 10 at half and then lose by like 10, to me that is a bad loss. Yes quinny has won the past 3 titles but this is not the same team. This is a 0.500 team and we have 20 wins, that would be a bad loss. That to me is similar to what went down today

People will jump on the 4 time defending champ thing to counter point. You don't even need that qualifier.

Sucks to suck.
Not worth trying to quantify it.

Win would have been sweet though Conference road loss ,,to the 4 time defending champion that are back to playing like they should be . We don't know that they are back to their normal self. They have won 4 straight. Quinnipiac started 4-0 and now sit 6-8. This league is so wide open that IMO there is no favorite unless maybe Cluess comes back

I missed the game and my phone spoiled the score so never watched the replay. Always disappointing to take a double digit lead into half time and lose.
My concern down the stretch is a familiar one for this Marist program that is constantly in rebuild. its the legs of the freshman down the stretch. Its a 6 player team. Cavanaugh and Tordoff and even Sjoberg have their moments but Cubbage, Jones, Sagl, Herasme, St Furcy and Bell will determine how we finish. The fact that 4 of them are underclassmen and 4 of them are in their first DI season m akes you worry about how they hold up down the stretch.
Even the 2004-2005 Marist team lead by SO and FR Jordan, Whittington and Stilphen crashed down the stretch after starting the MAAC 7-1
