Bell was outstanding again. Scoring in many ways. Nice balance. Jones was great again. Great win. Now beat FF.... Way to bounce back after a really tough loss and a 7-0 deficit to start. Cubbage has improved in all facets of the game.

Nice line from Cubbage, 12 points 5 reb. 8 assists and three steals, and worked hard to bring the ball up against pressure.

I've harped on free throws since day @1 this year. I now say good work to make 100% in first half and 85+% total. Without those points the final few minutes could have been different. Good win!!!!!

Cubbage has turned it all around. His shot is coming around. He's been outstanding. They can control their destiny for the top 5. Should be a fun run. You can see how this team will be much better. The way they're playing now does not resemble the early season. They'll be more mature next year. They add the right pieces and they'll be really good. They've been pretty good other than 10 bad minutes against Siena. I think they need a bull down low, a PG and another sniper. They just need to supplement what they have. If Jones plays the way he did last night, they are definitely a team to reckon with in the MAAC. The d is always there. Bell was my wild card and he's now what I thought he could be. Not bad for a soph.. I'd really like to see Jack get his ball handling down. He'll be a nice guy off the bench.

Awesome win! Defense was outstanding and ball movement very good. They need to improve their plays on inbounding vs pressure but the refs also need to call the game straight up there too. Refs know Marist struggles with that so they give the benefit of the doubt to the pressuring team which allows them to commit about 26 fouls in those situations. I understand thats typical in basketball but I just hate it. Lets seem a team play 40 minuntes like that. Theyd all foul out in less than 15 minutes.
The turnaround was sparked by the dismissals. This group is cohesive and plays very well together. Theyre also not bogged down by shooters who literally shoot 25% and take a quarter of the teams shots

I admire this groups resilience. I think its their most impressive characteristic this year so far. They just seem to be able to put disappointing performances behind them so quickly.
That loss at Canisius was awful. Down 7-0 to St Peter’s I’m thinking “uh-ohh here comes the hangover” against a team that basically embarrassed them last month. Then they get the lead and never look back really. You’ve got to love that level of emotional intelligence they have displayed. Their short collective memory will be a major asset as they continue to grow together as a group and Dunne brings in new guys to fill the roster out completely.

I just think our defense was outstanding . There was so many bad passses by St. Peters but i think that was part of being in the right place defensively as coached by Dunne . Time to start thinking of getting the bye in the tournament .Great tests coming up with Fairfield and Iona .This is starting to get fun !!

At this point, the play has been so improved over the last 9 games anything short of 9-11 or 10-10 in the league would be a disappointment. Marist has actually played the harder half of their schedule. The remaining 8 games include 5 home games and no games left vs top 4's SPU and Rider. If they can avoid let downs and over confidence (which OF keys on in his above post) they have a very realistic shot at their first .500 MAAC season in 12 years.
Over the last 9 games, Marist is 5-4 averaging 67.3 ppg while giving up 65.6 ppg (+1.7). The shooting percentage is 41%, 38% from 3 and even 66% from the line. This is a team that averaged 56 ppg over the first 12 while shooting sub 60% from the line and sub 30% from 3. Those are incredible in season enhancements.
In the last 9 while Cubbage is somehow shooting a poor .309 from the filed his overall slash line is 11.0 ppg, 7.3 rpg and 4.8 apg plus a ton of steals. The shooting % is the only thing keeping him from ALL MAAC 2nd team.
over the last 9 the top 6 are putting up 11.0 (Cubbage), 10.8 (Sagl), 10.2 (Bell), 9.4 (Jones), 8.2 (Herasme) and 8.1 (St Furcy) ppg thats some great balance with 6 real weapons. Becoming m ore optimistic about the future, especially if Bird and Enoh are even just incremental improvements. Imagine if theyre more that

Nice job by Cubbage working on his foul shot, he changed his set-up, now it's 3 quick dribbles hold the ball one more dribble knee bend and shoot.

The bull is here, Sagl will only get better and the staff should keep their eyes peeled for a JC/GRAD prototype PG. Good stuff, great win. It doesn't happen overnight but what has to happen first is to make McCann a tough place to get road wins.

Missed the Byrd news .. Awesome!! I'd love that Johnson kid. when you have 3 shooters to worry about, someone gets a look. Things are looking up!

Nice win. Really excited with Bell and Herasme for the next two plus years. We can beat anyone in this league but more realistically we can lose to anyone in this league.
Hopefully we can continue building moment since we basically have the same roster next year

Hopefully we can continue building moment since we basically have the same roster next year Plus hopefully adding a true PG in byrd who can give us 15-20 mpg. And sounds like the Memphis transfer could be a help on the boards.

I agree ggaff and I never though I'd say this, this year, but they already have 3 shooters teams have to worry about in Sagl, Herasme and Bell. Adding a fourth whos 6-9 wouldnt hurt though
