Niagara and Manhattan both lose close ones to good teams ,,I think our league is a little tougher than it was last year . We had better be ready

Siena beats Canisius in early MAAC play 73-72 as Elijah Burns, Siena's Notre Dame 5th year transfer big, steps out and hits a 3 with 9 seconds to play. It was his only attempt from 3 for the game! Canisius's Majesty Brandon scores 30 points off the bench including the go-ahead 3 with 15 seconds left that preceded the Burns 3. Wish we could find a scorer like either of these guys

Rider scored 11 points in the first half but is somehow still in it, 22-11, I forgot how much I hate Wisconsin anti-basketball

scuffle in the Siena-Rider game as Frederick Scott and Saints rookie Gary Harris got into it, Harris hopped the table and went a row or two into the crowd at the Zoo, looked like he had words for a fan but didn't get physical or anything.

Rigoni went 7-8 from three, that's some Will Whittington ish right there
their starting five is pretty damn good, may not get the same level of respect or ink in MAAC circles as Siena and Rider, but those guys can play.
That freshman 7 foot center Pinkney is going to be an absolute monster if he adds some muscle.

Rider down one starter another played sparingly. Illness according to the Quinny broadcast team. BTW; you are featured in the Marist-FF Game preview on the FAirfield Board. Thought you might want to know so you could take a look-see. LOL

Thought you might want to know so you could take a look-see. LOL Thats funny ..!! They have a hopping forum board ,,more than most teams in the MAAC ..They have some great statisticians in there also ..good for them ..but if you look at our record for the last 10 years or so and look at other teams with similar records ,u won't find a team with more avid fans as Marist has .Look at Quinny again ,very good team ...Maybe a total of 50 people at the game .The Marist community has consistently supported the basketball team throughout this stretch ..The Marist students ,,thats another strory . Acually from their post it makes me sound like i'm the one who didn't post the 14-15 win prediction ...I was the one that did that .

Rider missed 14 free throws in a 3-point loss at home to Iona. I feel that. I also loved Rider hitting a 3 with 10 seconds left to draw within 1, then completely forgetting to foul anybody and letting the Gaels run the clock out. Such a well-coached team, year after year, aren't they?
Q eased past Niagara, Fairfield shook off the humiliation of losing at home to us by beating Manhattan by 8, and Monmouth smoked suddenly helpless Canisius.

This shows the importance of free throws affecting the outcome of games for each team. Make them it is a plus plus, miss them and the game is in jeopardy.

Well, of course, a steaming mad Rider Squad.

Q eased past Niagara, Fairfield shook off the humiliation of losing at home to us by beating Manhattan by 8, and Monmouth smoked suddenly helpless Canisius. Rider shot twice as many free throws against us and only missed 11 out of 48. Why does our free throw defense suck every year too? They were 10 for 24 against Iona and 37 of 48 against us. If they shot the same percentage against us as they did against Iona, they would have gone 20 for 48 against us and scored 17 points less and we win easily! SMDH.
