This was the kind of the year they had somewhat of a shot with Fergus and Deserpa being their best players and seniors. Shame they couldn't pull off the upset. FF the class of the MAAC by a mile and had home court.

teams blow 2-0 leads all the time, it's not a choke, especially on the road against a team that has about 6 more scholarships than we do.

They did have a good shot this year having Deserpa and Fergus but I think they have a good young core. Their setter is a sophomore and had 2 all rookie player. If they could hit on an freshman outside hitter like Rider did this past year they could be in good shape next year

Waiting for the CC update from the MAAC with only VB to be updated. Foxes are definitely in the running this year.

Waiting for the CC update from the MAAC with only VB to be updated. Foxes are definitely in the running this year. I'll do an updated spreadsheet tonight perhaps...eyeballing it, men's soccer got less points than last year (dropped from 3 to 4 seed, both out in semifinals), women's soccer dropped a few points (2 to 4 seed, no bonus for postseason win either year), volleyball a definite but small improvement from 5 and no bonus points to 4 with a bonus. Men's XC improved 1 point from 6th to 5th. Women's XC stayed 2nd.

I calculate Marist's current score to be 18.5 men, 30 women, 48.5 overall which is exactly what our totals were in Fall 2018. We stand 2nd in each gender and 1st overall by half a point over Iona.
Monmouth is 10 points back in 5th place but all their big score sports are still to come, except women's soccer. They are still the favorites overall. Iona stands a great shot at taking the men's cup, but they may have to repeat as double champions in men's basketball to do it. The women's race last year saw Monmouth hold off Marist down the stretch but suddenly we have two new contenders this year - Fairfield and Quinnipiac.

lacrossebucket.com/2020/01/21/under-the-radar-teams-to-watch-in-2020/Marist Even the top-tier teams in the MAAC rarely get the respect they deserve. And Marist is certainly in that boat coming into 2020 after winning the MAAC in 2019 and proving everyone wrong. They have a buzzsaw of an offense led by junior attackman Jake Weinman and sophomore attackman JoJo Pirreca, who each put up 41 and 35 points last season. Senior Joe Tierney, who switched to midfield last season, and sophomore Jamison Embury run the show at midfield to add even more offensive firepower. They do have some questions on the back end, but with junior goalie Jack MacGregor and poles Sam Ahlgrim and Tyler Ammirato back they should be able to get that unit gelling pretty quick. Look out for the Foxes in 2020.

Good luck to all the Foxes this upcoming weekend. Spring sports begin with W and M Lax starting, baseball and softball the following week. Let's bring home the Commissioner's Cup.
