Keep an eye in Ava Learn - local kid who it seems coach has at least watched play www.poughkeepsiejournal.com/story/sports/2020/01/03/girls-basketball-lourdes-hangs-take-down-albertus-magnus/2800430001/Ava Learn School: Our Lady of Lourdes Year: Junior Position: Forward What makes Ava super: At 6-foot-1, with her athleticism and talent, Learn can do it all and creates matchup nightmares for most opponents. She's a hybrid post-wing, capable of slashing inside, working under the basket and shooting from the perimeter. Her length and leaping ability have made her a good shot-blocker. Learn averaged 23 points, 12 rebounds and 3.5 blocks in leading the rebuilding Warriors to the Section 1 Class AA semifinals. "She's one of the most talented players I've had and she's drawing a lot of Division I college interest," Lourdes coach Al Viani said. "She's working on being able to do more things off the dribble and she's looking to pass more and get everyone involved. She'll be our go-to player and we'll get as far as she takes us."

So it is getting to that time of year where we are all starting to look for 2021 commits (we are a few months off to be honest) - I do wonder how the situation in NYC effects kids choices/parents choices when it comes to picking a college?

Jessica Cook | 2021 | North Syracuse: is a post player with a high motor. She was an imposing presence on both ends of court. Her ability to cradle rebounds outside of her area was impressive. She also kicked the ball out and became a strong rim runner. This is where Cook showed her great hands and improved athleticism. She has put in the work and college coaches have taken notice. Miami of Ohio, St. Bonaventure, Marist, St. Joe’s University, Quinnipiac, Toledo and Canisus have all offered.

Melannie Daley 5'8" PG
Competition -
Daley as the likes of Butler, Villanova, Boston College, and Virginia Tech have made her a priority, and with Indiana, George Washington, Fordham, and Manhattan having all made trips to the Hastings gym to check out Daley this fall, this could only be the start of Daley's recruitment going to an even higher level.

Tom, Meghan's dad, starred for Siena and broadcast Siena games. One of her brothers, also named Tom, played for Siena. Kevin, another brother played at Maryland and is on the Atlanta Hawks. Her sister, Jillian, is one year behind her at Shenendehowa HS where they both star.
