Marist mens Lacrosse just 2 weeks ago beat Stone Brook 10-5 at SB. And Marist softball will be very good over next 4 years with freshman pitcher Calista Phippen leading us to possibly 4 consecutive NCAA tournaments. Phippen is gonna have every BCS softball school trying to poach her , hopefully Marist is enough for her. Softball is 4-12 in games she doesn’t pitch . That doesn’t scream 4 years of NCAA tournament They couldn’t get her the 1st time around. I think one move Marist could make as a bit of insurance regarding her is to hire a pitching coach. Doesn’t have to be full time.

I love the enthusiasm but the gulf between the strong P5 teams and MAAC softball is bigger than that between the MAAC and Division 3. Fully funded programs are just a different thing entirely.

You know she had offers from BCS schools including Wash St. Washington State? They don't have a softball program.

I would wait to see how we do in MAAC play. She has already had big offers bit turned them down. She knew what she was getting into.

You know she had offers from BCS schools including Wash St. What a coup by the coach and AD to get the committment. Hopefully she stays.

Robbie Armitage named MAAC Player of the Week for baseball. Entered the weekend series at Richmond with zero career homers. Got back to McCann with four.

Sounds like another top notch student athlete recruited by Marist. here's a guy who only got 3 at-bats in 6 games as a freshman, mostly pinch running, that has become the every day 3B starter as a soph with a .367/.395/.608 slash line in 20 games. His twin brother Reece is the Foxes center fielder. They're from Falmouth, Maine - same hometown as Allie Clement.

IMHO, I think TM needs to hire a AD head recruiter that supports all recruiting efforts across all sports.

a fun weekend on the shore for Marist baseball as the Foxes sweep 3 at Monmouth. Bullpen threw 5 scoreless and allowed only 1 hit in today's series finale; 9-hole hitter Brian Hart singled in the winning run in the top of the 9th. Huge series next weekend at home against defending MAAC tourney champs Canisius.
Also last night was a big win for men's lacrosse at home over Siena, that tiebreaker will go a long way towards putting them back in the MAAC tournament (which will be at Tenney Stadium next month).

Softball also won all 4 games on the road (granted they were the worst teams in the MAAC). But still none of the games were close

What's up with the MAAC Commissioner Cup? Website has last year's results? Would love to know where we stand.

What's up with the MAAC Commissioner Cup? Website has last year's results? Would love to know where we stand. because I am beyond a ridiculous dork, I've actually been compiling commish cup results in a spreadsheet and updating it every few days based on the standings in various sports. At this moment, Marist is somewhere in the middle in the men's race, about 5 points behind Monmouth in second place in women's sports, and just 0.5 points behind first place Monmouth overall. It could be a very close finish, but I'm still projecting Monmouth to take the women's and overall cups with Iona and Quinny battling for the men's cup (Monmouth and Marist still have time to make a late rush). Right now Marist is not getting the points from women's lacrosse I was expecting, but is slightly exceeding projections in softball, for example. I think this is a big part of why fans can't get into Commish Cup/All Sports Trophies. If you need Microsoft Excel to figure out who's winning, is it really sports?
