Woes continue for Iona. They lose 56-54 at home to Siena. Iona had 4 shots at the end with 14 seconds left, 2 to tie and 2 to win it. Siena over .500 in the MAAC at 5-4.

Monmouth leads Rider 40-28 at the half.
And in 4 of Rider's 7 MAAC wins, they have trailed by 9 or more, but won those games. This time, it caught up with them.
Monmouth 75, Rider 71.

Such a wide open year in the MAAC. Anyone can beat anyone honestly

I'm confident at this point that Reese will not be putting on a Canisius uniform again.

Manhattan wins 3rd in a row with a 73-66 home win against.....RIDER. That win at Manhattan looking better and better. We would win tiebreaker against them.

how on RONNIE's green earth does the MAAC suck this incredibly badly, it's now just as bad at MBB as it is at every other sport it attempts despite being so-called "basketball forward"
I can't wait until 22-loss Monmouth and 23-loss Manhattan are banging it out on Monday night for the title and the league trends on Twitter as a laughingstock

Hero mode costs Rider yet AGAIN...losing 81-80 to Canisius at home. Costed them 1st place for now too.

Rider still 0 for February after its 4th straight loss. Siena (picked for last) is now half a game out of first with maybe the least talented roster they've ever had. At this rate Jamion Christian is going to be coaching in the ACC within two years.
With six games to play (four away, two home), Marist is two games back of the 5 seed and escaping the PIG for the first time since ehhhh I don't feel like looking it up. 2008 is my best guess.

Rider is 0-for, Iona hung on for a win at home against Niagara, who just got blown out by 21 at Marist. 2008 is actually correct.
Need more useless MAAC info;
Since the 1984-85 season, there has been 5 times that the #1 seed has not gotten to 20+ wins before the MAAC tournament. Make it 6 this year, as no team can get more than 19 by winning out.
In 38 MAAC seasons, there have been 3 teams that have won the MAAC tournament and advanced to the NCAA's, yet have only 3 wins OOC. Siena 02 (3-9), Manhattan 15 (3-6), and Iona 16 (3-6). If Monmouth wins it this year, it will have the worst OOC record in MAAC history (1-12).
The worst winning % in OOC games for a season in MAAC history was 2004-05 coming in at 35.8% (34-61). 2018-19 eclipsed that mark this year, postseason games still coming, 30.8% (41-92).

Then do we have to take into account how strong were the OOC opponents during those years for the MAAC teams ,then how strong were the teams in the whole NCAA that year .Not every year was a super strong year in the NCAA .and take into account the number of kids that left early for pros after high school until they changed it to 1 and done . I know you've done some great work with this ..But also take a team like Monmouth, 3 overtime losses ,a lot of close games . and King Rice really has them humming now . So much crap happens in those OOC games , u always see Massive upsets , not as much now . Teams should be gelling now ,and it looks like that is what we are doing ..Maybe u guys are right ,if we only won that dumb a$$ed game against Lehigh ( which we should have won ) our rankings should be far higher . Most of us are pretty simple (like myself) and appreciate your stats and comparisons but really see this as an exciting and improved year and are content with going to the McCann and getting a hot dog and those cheap a$$ed Nachos and enjoy watching the game.

Which teams and OOC opponents to compare? One missing element is Monmouth only played 3 home games in OOC, and well, they had the 2nd toughest OOC schedule in the MAAC outside of Canisius. Still, they could have beaten Lehigh at home, @ Colgate, and @ Albany. But, what is alot of close games? OOC Monmouth lost by 24, 13, 15, 18, 11, 24, 3, 46, 22, 2, 19, and 8. Only 3 are under double-digits, and they have been to OT 3 times this season and are 2-1 in OT. Their only OOC OT game was the only game they won against Penn.
Siena, played a pretty tough schedule that year, but also had a couple of games they should have won, and at home too. But also, they only went 9-9 in the MAAC too, finishing 7th place out of 10 teams. Out of those 3 that only had 3 OOC wins, Manhattan of 2015 probably had the hardest schedule of any of them.
2004-05 was ranked 10th in terms of SOS against the other 38 MAAC seasons. 2018-19 is ranked 2nd worst in 38 years.

Most coaches don't freak out about the out of conference records / schedules ,they are trying to find out what works , we've got extenuating factors besides just x's and o 'x strength of schedule .new coaches in the MAAC ,excellent players who have gotten suspended (Iona ,Canisius ).what players need to be shifted into the lineup .I think the last 10 games are far more important than the first .and as i just heard on the radio by some coaches the tournament selection commitee looks at how the teams look at when they are at there best . It's not our fault that we have a bad SOS . I wish we had a bad SOS some years ago when I believe we played like 5 teams that ended up going to the tournament . The MAAC is the MAAC ,how may teams stronger or weaker have gone past the 1st round of the tournament ? a few but not since 2009, i feel bad for the people that just can't enjoy some of the good talent on our team and on other MAAC teams as well ,there is still some good basketball out there . I have no clue why some are trying to diminish the accomplishments of this team .....weird to say the least .

THe more Dunne leads this years teams to wins, some of these posters thinks puts more pressure on him next year. I honestly believe this and will continue to say it. I would not be shocked if this years team goes further in the MAAC tourney and wins more games in the MAAC than next years team will. I actually expect a 1 year decline next year. And that will be OK. We need to support this years team. The guys who are downplaying whatever success they do have is just odd.
