Just watched a bit of the Iona/Marist elimination game. Nice win for the Marist ladies. Claire came through in the 5TH inning when the homeplate umpire was taking a looooong time to try and fix his mask. After a few minutes, our catcher offered to fix it and did so in about 10 seconds! She got a nice thank you from the ump and Marist went on to win and advance to a Friday game. Claire has confidence, a great attitude and SKILLS!

Coach Joe Ausanio had some nice things to say about Claire on the Marist softball senior tribute. He said she is probably the best female athlete in the history of Marist College. It was really fun watching her play both sports the last few years.

Since senior spring athletes are being given an extra year, I wonder if Claire is considering coming back next year. She would be able to complete her Masters studies since it would be her 6th year at the school.

Insight to Claire's work ethic goredfoxes.com/news/2020/4/14/general-female-strength-conditioning-award-finalists-announced.aspx?utm_source=hootsuite&utm_medium=&utm_term=&utm_content=&utm_campaign=Strength & Conditioning Coach Aaron Suma: "Claire is a truly unique athlete and has been a pleasure to work with since her arrival at Marist. Claire played basketball and softball so she never really had a true off-season to really hit the weight room like most athletes, yet she always found time to get in at least three days per week even during her traditional seasons with those two teams. I remember having a lot of 'deja vus' with Claire because there were multiple times where she would come in with the softball or basketball team for lift, and the other team had their own team lift later that day. Claire would be present at that team's lift as well, and pour the same amount of energy into the second lift as she did the first. She likely would have broken the school's power clean record had the spring not been cut short." Softball head coach Joe Ausanio: "Claire's work ethic has always been second to none. Ever since her freshman year she has excelled in the classroom, on the court, on the field and in the weight room. Claire leads by example and it's no surprise she has been nominated for the Strength & Conditioning award." "
