Millbrook lost but Marist-committed junior forward Erin Fox led all players with 28 points, 11 rebounds, and three blocks It's very encouraging to know that all our recruits and commits finished the year with strong individual play and recognition. Looking forward to learning how Fox does in summer ball and, of course, her senior season. Probably wants to play with her sister again, but I wonder if there was any thoughts of a transfer to OLL or a year in prep school post-grad similarly to TK this season? yankee would like that.

I watched the MIllbrook game and Fox had some great spin moves for layups and boxed out really well. Drove the paint and put it in off the backboard. Overall she had a great game but her team did not shoot very good and they had to many turnovers. WG did shoot very good from the 3 which determined the outcome of the game.

Fox and Wax were real early commits for us... go back through years and most don’t commit until June-Aug

Hope we are high on her list " Cairns, a Junior at Saratoga Springs High, was just named "Girl's Basketball Athlete of the Year by the Times Union. She beat out a host of excellent players including Quinny commit Cat Almeida and Kerry Flaherty, a Holy Cross bound teammate of Cairns at Saratoga. Cairns plays AAU for the Albany City Rocks. The same program as Sam Bailey. The article says Cairns has received interest from nearly 40 division 1 programs. She is quoted as saying "Right now, I am narrowing down it down a little bit. When I go to college, I want to play right away." Cairns plans to make her college selection in the fall prior to the start of her senior season according to the article. Obviously a player like Cairns - 17 ppg, 5.3 rb, and 3.6 assists - would be a huge get for Marist. On the "small" school side, Graceann Bennett, who I believe flirted with the idea of Marist, took the honor on her way to Georgetown next season. Don't get too down on a kid based on the size of the school. Bennett attends Glens Falls High who also graduating Syracuse-bound Joe Girard III and a guy named Jimmer Fredette a couple of years ago.

But no athletic scholarships in the IVY League. Can only receive academic money for tuition, all other expenses fall on the parents, or student loans. That's the reason when my daughter was contacted by Brown, we never seriously considered that as an option. Happy that she was offered by and accepted Marist.

What are the other expenses?
