First the Men play Duke in N.C. now the Marist Marching Band will play at Trump's inauguration, that's only going to add to the tensions on campus. The upside is M. Maker is a Trump guy so maybe our next President can help bring in some recruits in from Russia.

Has to be a great experience for the college students. Marching during the inauguration does not mean they support the piece of garbage that is the president elect.

I don't understand! What ever happened to respect for the office of President of the United States. I didn't throw a temper tantrum when any President that wasn't my choice (14 elections for President) took the office. I am happy that our country ELECTS it's President--------peacefully. Happy New Year!

Did Trump have " respect for the office of President of the United States " when for YEARS he claimed Obama was not born in the U.S.

It's my understanding that the band applied to be part of the inauguration before the election was held, for whatever that's worth

This should be a decision the band members make no one else - all these people signing the petition what do they have to lose - what is their sacrifice NOTHING. So easy to jump on your high horse when you have no skin in the game. I will support whatever decision the actual band members make.

Here at least one of the actual band members gets it - Mike Morrow, a member of the band, was quoted in the statement as saying the inauguration “isn’t about celebrating one person being elected, it’s about a celebration of democracy and ... a peaceful transfer of power.”

So easy to jump on your high horse when you have no skin in the game. I will support whatever decision the actual band members make. They should positively march if they want too. Again, participating during a March does not mean you are supporting the man full of hatred that is to be the president. It means they get to perform on a big stage and have a memory of a lifetime. Maybe the wear a symbolic peace bracelet or something to show women, Mexicans, LGBT that they don't support that garbage that is to be president. Only if they want to wear the bracelent, but let them do so if they want.

It's my understanding that almost ALL entertainers and schools pulled out of the inauguration when Trump won the election.

As a staunch republican I'm taking a wait and see approach. I do understand those who are less enthused about our president elect as do I understand those who have grown disenchanted with this out going administration.
