Just got back from game. Poor execution in critical moments, unfortunately the hallmark of the Parity era. 25 years and counting; can we retire this guy and get a young hungry coach? He can't win a close game and pads his record against the canisiuses, the St. Petereres and now the davidsons and Valpos of FCS.
Enough is enough.

Couldn't watch the 2nd half, what were the mistakes. Bottomline, this should have been a win.

I've said this before...
With college FB you have to compare apples to apples. More specifically...program budgets. The amount of money they can offer a kid is all the difference. Bucknell and all other Patriot teams (Georgetown aside) spend way more than Marist. It was the deal they made to keep the program. I really don't think coach is the problem. You bring in Belichick and he'd have trouble winning here. It is what it is. Marist is an academic first school. Unless the AD can present a benefit cost analysis to raising the program budget expect more of the same. The good news is there is evidence to support the "need" for successful sports. Most kids want to go to a school that provides that part of the college experience. I am not dialed in enough to know the schools future football plans. The pittance I donate doesn't get me inner circle knowledge. I would love to know how much additional spending would get the program where it is consistently competitive.
Btw, basketball at Marist is "fully" funded. Meaning....all players education is paid for. Football is not sucking money out of basketball. Football may be taking money from other sports but certainly not basketball. I am pretty sure a new 5k seat basketball arena is not being held back by football.

100 plus kids busting it all week, are getting no money to play football and we have Marist Fans (supposedly) that come on this blog and rarely say anything positive unless there is a win involved. I was at both games stayed for the entire game both times and watched a college football game for 10 bucks, and I was entertained as were most whom attended these games. Marist was not blown out and there were mistakes but there was also some good football. I saw d line and o line do the best they could against a much larger and stronger opponent I saw a quarterback running around trying to make things happen, I saw running backs receivers running hard on every play. Lets give them a little credit! Sacred Heart next week than league play!
Lets Go Marist!!

I get it, but consider this, so many games against USD (a PFL program!) Bucknell, Fordham, Columbia and Georgetown have been winnable and we lost because of mental miscues at critical times ON THE FIELD. If you don't think coaching is a problem you haven't been watching the last 12 years.

Its not a "winning" budget. Its a "tread water until we figure out what we want to be" budget. The Pioneer FL was supposed to be a temporary solution. We should be playing regional teams exclusively.

I'm not sure the administration agrees with this assessment.
If this was the plan, the PL going full scholly torpedoed it.
Right now we should be focused on winning the PFL, if the budget is the problem, raise it to USD, Dayton levels; I don't think this coaching staff will get us there irregardless.
2013 was a statistical anomaly and even then we still choked away the USD game and a playoff bid.

That first comment is unfair, and of a personal level that kind of sucks to be honest. I do agree Marist needs to do better. That first is comment is unfair - First comment is the dead on truth. More than fair it is a fact. Sorry you don't like the truth. Understand that for what they get paid, getting your kid a college diploma (and a good one at that) is fair. I actually appreciate that Marist does this. But if the program is going to be better than 4-7 or 6-5 then we need more money and a new staff. OK, so fire the staff and drop a kid's diploma. NOT going to happen, nor should it. So as long time fan who loves Marist football, I'll take the pain. I do agree Marist needs to do better - How will this happen? Magic? It will happen with more money and a new coaching staff. I love the staff, good people, but they're record is .500 ball. Coaching is about getting kids to excel and meet their potential. They are far too many woulda, coulda, shouldas. and of a personal level that kind of sucks to be honest - I'll pass on a response to this cramp.
