That was the gym during my years too. There was a little room at one end of the court that served as a weigh room that also housed a universal machine.. If I'm not mistaken that building also served as home to the college print shop. Those were the days. LOL

Year end construction update. Interior and other features of the new Science and Allied Health building including the micro-brew facility cleverly disguised as a "filtration" system. www.marist.edu/about/construction/

that new science building looks great. i was over on campus a few weeks back for the iona game, love the stone they put up on the buildings. Donnelly looks so out of place though. I do think we need a real arena, McCann could remain for VB. a 3500 seat arena with real concession stands, higher ceiling with center score board video etc,a real weight room,it would help immensely with recruiting.

Marist is spending around $100 million on Student Housing according to the Po Jo. And still the basketball teams play in a glorified High School gym, the size of a HS gym in Indiana. AND there is still no track & field facility on campus. What's up with that???

Anyone here have to live in Canterbury Garden Apartments? Then you would understand the need to these new housing - I think the housing buildings will even help recruiting when touring campus

Arena - Arena - Arena ----- students live at Marist 6 +/- months. The improvements to the McCann Arena were heralded by all. The attendance has been dropping since. The students don't go to Basketball games men or women. Season ticket holders are not appreciated. We went to a farse at Cosmo's with little representation from student athletes. One athlete spent the night talking with mother and two other athletes. No discount for other events for members. Parking sucks at Basketball Games. Went to softball game enjoyed it (no difference for Fox Club members). "We need an arena" - baseball doesn't have much seating unless you bring a chair. By the way bleachers are not great for people not in their prime. To the college respect the fan base ----- to the fans I am sure change will happen, sometime.

It really is a shame that both the softball and baseball venues are so beautiful with poor fan seating accommodations.
I attended the 2016 MAAC softball tournament and all of the prime area behind home plate is reserved for media and coaches while the fans are remote and trying to peer over dugouts that are way too tall (not dugout at all and made for 7 footers!). I'll bet some of our highly skilled Marist students could take on a course project and design optimal improvements!
How can an alum, fox club member and supporter of Marist Athletics best influence the administration to improve "the fan experience" at these two venues? Any suggestions/ideas?

Perhaps to be used for the upgrades you suggest?
