First of all, I think the comments in this thread should be reserved for the Personal message thread. Hopefully, the team, including the coaching staff, does not read this garbage. What are you trying to accomplish with disparaging these young ladies in an open forum? Are you trying to get some, or all, of them to quit? Or maybe, like Mr. Old Fart Get Off Of My Lawn, you might be hoping the AD reads this and will do your bidding and fire the coach. Admittedly, I was disappointed with the way the season has played out as well as everyone else, and also admittedly, I have a connection to the program on a personal level, and I want to see them succeed. I just see no reason why your gripes should be in threads that can be seen by the team when you all have the opportunity to vent your spleens in a thread that can only be seen by your fellow complainers.
Just my opinion folks.

Disagree - as long as comments are directed towards how they play basketball, I got no issue. Saying they can't shoot, don't run the offense, can't get up and down court, have not recruited well, or has not made good in game adjustments - is ALL fair game. As athletes playing at this level they better take criticism.

Just sayin - Marshall Thundering Heard has a brand that new first year coach from D2 and they just won their conference and a ticket to the tourney. She did not have 16 or so years of watching the master do his thing. She is just a really good coach. And there is a downside to hiring the hot commodity coach. Marshall head coach Kim Caldwell just accepted the job at Tennessee. One successful year and now you're back to square one again

Sure it’s disappointing that they left. However, I’ll trade last year’s results with Fairfield or Marshall any day of the week. Structure the contract with a buyout and the poaching college pays for the national search to replace them. I wouldn’t care if we had a different coach every year as long as they won like Fairfield and Marshall did this season.

That is crazy to assume you can keep finding good coach after good coach. Also, for a P5 there is no buyout they cant afford

The buyout is for us to recoup and reinvest $$ - we lose a coach BUT get $500K that helps program

That is crazy to assume you can keep finding good coach after good coach. Also, for a P5 there is no buyout they cant afford . That’s the point of a buyout. Any good really coach mid-majors get are going to get hired away. The buyout at least gets you compensated for your troubles.

True. I misunderstood your point on that. I thought you were saying make it too big for a P5.

The apparition is thinking mid-majors are going to hold on to good coaches. Nusseibeh’s 32-60 record at Canisius earned her a promotion. Excepting a homebody unicorn like BG or decent end of career lifer ( a Jabir) how are any midmajors going to hold on to a winning coach? Go get a hot one and hope for the best.
