Sources say that Hudson Valley News story is poorly written. One observer notes "I'm pretty sure the reporter didn't actually speak to a single relevant person."

You know what is surprising me - the women's basketball alum. Sure what appears to be E. Allenspach posted a great commentary on her time here at Marist and how she felt about coach but that is it. I don't expect for the past women to come on our little board guessing most could care less about our board, but when article after article from different news sources come out saying that the reason they are leaving is because Giorgis is a tyrant, or abrasive - why hasn't any ex-players stand up and say hey this isn't true, better yet why hasn't the PJ done a story about the Marist women's alum (maybe a where are they now..)
It just surprises me more of his past players have not come out against some of these accusations.

fear, as you surmised, most former players don't pay attention to stuff that is posted online. I was skeptical that it really was Erica that posted what she did, but nomar, who is pretty much the guy in the know, assured me that it was her. I'm guessing that like everything else in life, even kidney stones, this too shall pass, and the ladies are choosing to leave well enough alone.

In my experience, with a family member who is a former high school and college player, the alum communicate directly with the coaches and each other. They do no not, as tg28 said, spend time responding to internet commentary, speculation, or gossip. you generally don't see public comments from most former players, even in the most public situations.

I agree with all about even a little bit with what fear said...if a newspaper had ripped into Doc Goldman for being a tyrant I am sure some of us would have had issue with it.
I agree never expected ANY past player to come on this board
But I would have liked the newspaper to do some reporting that might have included past players

Marist 6-1 transfer Madeline Blais, who shot nearly 45 percent from 3-point range (86-for-193) last season, visiting @usfwbb this weekend

Ha I called it earlier in this thread!
(If trying to start a rumor about Blais considering USF counts as calling it)

But also really hope the team gets 6 wins and she is not allowed to do the "look at me" picture pose during pregame introductions:).

USF has a pretty talented team. I wonder if she would be a starter.

USF has a pretty talented team. I wonder if she would be a starter. Yawn. More concerned about who's starting for Marist. Marist has 5 scholarship players on the roster and based on anything approaching actual evidence only two have proven they can contribute at the D1 level.
Also, Siena added another forward for next season. This time an experienced player. A kid from overseas who was a foreign exchange student somewhere in NYS, then returned home and played club ball in Europe for a couple of years. Karolina Severova joins Jackie Benitez, Katcia Perryman and Deja Rawls as incoming freshmen who will join the Siena Women's Basketball program this fall. Benitez, Perryman and Rawls previously signed their National Letters of Intent during the early signing period back in November.Severova spent the past three seasons playing in her native Czech Republic. Primarily competing for Sparta Praha of the Czech Basketball Federation Second League, she averaged 10.9 points and 4.2 rebounds while shooting 35.7% from three-point range from 2012-15. Last season she appeared in 14 games, averaging 10.9 points and 5.2 rebounds in 32.0 minutes while shooting 36.7% from distance.Severova also saw limited action the past three seasons while also competing for Cesky Poha and Basket Slovanka MB Tabor of the Czech First League.Severova is a member of the Czech National Team and competed at both the FIBA U16 European Championships in 2010 and U18 Championships in 2012. In 2012 she averaged 8.7 points and 5.0 rebounds in 23.7 minutes of action over nine games.

It might be a good time for Marist to look internationally for a player or two who would be immediately eligible. I know the men's team has an Aussie.

I am quite sure Giorgis is exploring all avenues and will get players who will do well at Marist. Something about the last decade and change tells me that:).
