Probably why it was on the short list of potential transfer destinations for Duncan Robinson this summer.

Michigan-Marist. Tough decision for a basketball player. Probably would have taken him days to think about it:).

I think it happened literally within a day of each other. Maker talked about how Beilein is almost his mentor, the coach he wants to pattern himself after. I am almost positive the next game was the NJIT loss. I was like, so typical rub off Marist luck:).

I understand that fox94. But NOONE would choice present day Marist over Michigan. I could see going for the mid tier A-10 kid and hoping he likes the area or something. But Michigan?

Yankee 99 ouf 100 times you would be right but we often talk about how important the coach is vs the school - in this case Maker might have at least gotten Marist into the conversation BUT to his credit he stayed away from Brady's character flaws and showed great class in not poaching from his former team

IMO I think Maker and the staff have done a superb job keeping the group together through devastating injuries and the losing streak. Anyone who has ever managed people for a living is probably impressed. I have no doubt, given his background and past success, that he has a realistic vision for what the program can be and who he can get to accept a scholarship to play at Marist given it's assets and limitations. I think we are going to be impressed. "The boys and I are getting to know each other, see who we are and what we can be."

He was not following him to Marist when Michigan is offering.

Ok how about a 1 in a 1000000000000 chance?

Hopefully Maker also held out for the same kind of "player to be named later" deal from Beilein that Patsos got when he left Maryland to rebuild Loyola.
