The more the Red Foxes adapted to the new system, the more they flourished. Senior Jay Bowie broke out through conference play as a scorer
Too bad they waited until Bowie and Kemp were Seniors to make the coaching change. Would have loved to see what Jay Bowie would have accomplished with two full seasons under Bower and the staff.

Too many too bads, would haves, could haves and should haves with this program.
I will now defer to the usual off-season optimism that prevails this time of the year until November.

I am a long time Marist basketball fan. I saw my first game on Dec. 1, 1967. I don't post much but unfortunately I have to agree with fox94. I too will defer my off-season optimism until I have something to be optimistic about.

I agree with Oldfox. It has a been a few rough decades, but every fan has to put up with a drought. But, the great thing is, there is always a source of water (hmmmmmmmmmm), so we are do for a monsoon. And when that comes, WATCH OUT MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAC.

If they get it done right, they should be competing for titles most of the time. No more bad recruiting . Get the pieces that are needed.

Show me something to be optimistic about.
Show me we can beat a Niagara in the PIG game. Show me we can avoid the PIG. Show me we have a team that can play good team basketball over the course of a season, not in drips and drabs. Show me we can hit FTs at critical times. Show me we can recruit a good JUCO player to fill a need and be competitive year in and year out. Show me we are willing and able to compete with the upper echelon of the MAAC.
Show me.

Well. Unfortunately, being a fan involves going through the tough times. I agree about the JUCO need. I will be upset if they don't get a guy to help them win this yr. If they don't win this year, I figure that coach would be on the same hot seat as last yr. He's got two of the top 10-12 players in the league on his team.. I give a coach three yrs before I start doubting. I'll admit I don't have total faith that he'll be allowed to bring in who he wants. Nomar says he's got the green light. They need to win this yr. Not .500.

Well tomorrow Kingsley Okoroh is on campus 7'1 C from England - has offers from Purdue, UTEP - he is hopefully looking to play right away. (he has been to Nebraska and Tennessee also) - the fact the Bower got him on campus is impressive. Lets hope that he loves the campus and believes that Bower and his staff + lots of playing time can help him get to the next level - heck maybe Rik can come talk to him. www.verbalcommits.com/players/kingsley-okoroh

Does anybody know if we are looking at Westchester Community College forward Keith Thomas, the top-ranked junior college rebounder in the country?

he is getting bcs looks - St. John’s isn’t the only school after the 6-foot-8 Thomas. Florida State, Fordham, USC, South Florida, Wright State and Loyola-Chicago are among his suitors,
